I've also been having problems with ITC recently. They seem to be a law unto themselves & I think that you are right Kernowlady, we have to band together to effect a change in the law.
I'm new to this site & unsure of how we can gather together all the people with problems re; ITC. But if this is possible I will contact a family member in the house of lords who may be in the position to get the ball rolling, but we will have to get as many people to come forward with their case histories in paper form to even get this started.
I do believe that this company should be regulated as should all legal service providers. The fact that they're not needs addressing so that the public, at a time when we need protecting the most (having recently lost a close relative)

Hello Infuriated. I did respond to your post shortly after you made this post, saying that I would happily provide details to your member of the family in the House of Lords regarding my experiences with ITC. My post disappeared so I would like you to know that I am still prepared to help in any way I can to get these companies regulated

ITC are the most unprofessional and discourteous company I have ever come across! Please do not use this company, as they will only add to your stress at an already stressful time.

Unfortunately my family appointed ITC upon a recommendation by Barclays Bank, after 6 months of very poor communication we terminated their services, they then charged us nearly £600.00 for basically doing nothing, a £250.00 set up fee and a £250.00 professional fee, total swindle, we objected to paying this fee of course, but were left with no comeback short of challenging their charges through a small claims court. Despite the bill having being paid in full, nearly a month later we are waiting for a confirmation that the account is settled in full. Shockingly bad administrators and pitiable customer service, please, please do yourselves a favour and avoid ITC.
  • ITC have had my mother's estate since Oct 2008! There was a caveat in place from then and it has taken them till just recently to get this removed -firstly because they did not know how and had no legal service to deal with this. On top of this, I have a valid claim against Barclays Bank with Financial Ombudsman for actions which they took whilst Whetstone and I am being told by ITC that it is a 'contentious' matter and cannot be dealt with by them. They are avoiding issuing my claim on my behalf as they say I have no valid claim and as the estate will not benefit, why should they!! It has been a nightmare, I have had to make hundreds of calls, emails, faxes and letters. They lack communication and duty of care. I have faxed Martin Trees and still not had a reply from him. Barclays know that ITC will not issue case against them and are not that bothered about doing the right thing.
Never use ITC and keep your money out of Barclays!
  • Can you help me, I need someone to push ITC to take action - they have had our account since Oct 2008 and wont realise our funds - they also have a valid complaint against Barclays to submit to Financial Ombudsman, but they wont - keeping telling me its a contentious matter which they will not deal with.
  • You need to get out of ITC asap - they will make your life hell. We signed up in Oct 2008 and our estate remains pending!! Find another Company, they dont have the know how to deal with sale of property let alone transfer - they use outside companies - so why not go direct yourself. Find a good solicitor - they are regulated and have a work conduct - ITC dont and will do whatever they want.
  • Can you help me pls. I have a valid case against Barclays Bank with Financial Ombudsman, but ITC have to submit claim as they are executors of the will. ITC say they cant submit claim as it is 'contentious' and they do not have facilities to deal with this. What can I do?

    Hi nas,
Unfortunately your problem is because ITC & Barclays Bank are greasing each others' palms by the fact that ITC are Barclays "Deceased Account Holders" administrators and will not want to jeopardize a very lucrative arrangement. (See this MSE link: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1970115).

Firstly, how long have ITC been working on your case? I would suggest that if you can afford to pay them off, it is probably worth the cost. If they haven't been on the case very long then it should not cost much. I see above post states £600 to get them off, which might seem a lot of money, but I can assure you it is money well spent and you will without doubt be well rid of the evil bunch of crooks (and yes ITC [&MSE], I speak from first hand experience so this is a fact not a lie or slander).

Secondly, i may be able to help you further regarding the speed at which ITC are progressing if you answer the private message I am about to post to you via MSE. Failing that, you could post a message on our group Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/group.php?gid=104268162937758 which I or someone else will reply to.

Hope that helps a bit. We are doing our best to get ITC headlined in the media but its' been a bit long winded, with only little success SO FAR.
    Good luck.
    Regards

I'm so sorry to hear what an absolute nightmare you are having (but I am not surprised about ITC's conduct) I cannot offer you any advice, but I am sure that a forum user will get to read your posts and offer some good advice. Would it be worth talking to a solicitor that specializes in probate? Maybe you have already tried this option. It's outrageous the way ITC allow something like this to linger (however, whilst they have the money from the estate, they keep the accrued interest)
So much for putting the customers mind at peace and taking the stress out of the administration of an estate!!!!! They are doing what they do best
stress you out until you bang your head against the wall out of sheer and utter frustration.
