Although 32p is a bargain price to send a letter anywhere in the UK, I just wish RM would be a little more realistic about the delivery time i.e first class actually takes 2 to 3 days, and 2nd class up to 5 days.

I honestly don't remember when I last sent something 1st class and it actually arrived the next day.

i see it every single day, loads of items are delivered next day
just yesterday i got my compact flash card from amazon delivered next day via 1st class

I do - it was 2 weeks ago. I do lots of sending of seeds around and about and some I sent all arrived the very next day. :T

Just to add that my organisation sends everything 2nd class and some of these arrive the next day!

Fine I'll admit, it's good value that for 39p a letter can get sent from Scilly to Orkney the next day as prooved on Top Gear (lol) but the fact that they "lossed" my letter is taking the !!!!

If your spelling on the front of your mail is anything like your spelling here, no wonder things go astray. (or lossed :T )
  • i would like the items i was meant to recieve a week ago to turn up. hmv, my local council, my mortgage company and the dvla are all meant to be sending me things, and so far no sign of anything
things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then ;)
BH is my best mate too, its ok :)

I trust BH even if he's from Manchester.. ;)

all your base are belong to us

Yes well I could say that your English language isn't good. You did not understand what I was saying. :T
So please don't come in here and patronize me sir!

edit: And anyway, give me a break - I was frustrated so I was not thinking clearly.

Also interesting to see what other people think/experience :)
  • there has been bickering between management and staff at royal mail for as long as i have been a member of the cwu (the union for my profession), when we get our union magazine its either them or bt, both companies are run more like monopolies than normal private companies. another round of strikes at royal mail, what is this the 70s? obviously in the heads of certain people it obviously is, if it was a proper private company it would be bust by now. why doesnt someone think 'you know what its the customers suffering here', because we cant go elsewhere thats why

deutche post (owners of dhl) cant/wont set up a postal service of the same type, so royal mail has no competition, but parcelforce (where they have competition) is basically a sinking ship

Don't worry about it DCP, I'm sure you - just like anyone else - would put a little more thought into the accuracy of the writing on a letter than an online forum post. :)
    Male. :o
  • Never really had any problems with RM. In 8 years have only had 1 ebay item not received, which the seller said was probably at his end, and 1 damaged which they refunded me for without any hassle.

Unless the item needs a sig they are usually quite happy to leave round the back which is secure. Although recently they do seem more inclined to leave a card.

Yesterday (Saturday) the postman delivered at 5pm.:T

Royal Mail are so useless, they can't even send a simple letter via 1st Class Post.
The person that sent it to me has got a Certificate of Posting, is there anyway I can claim compensation?

There's a huge backlog of mail due to strikes:

Your letter will probably turn up eventually.
