Royal Mail useless

Options
Royal Mail are so useless, they can't even send a simple letter via 1st Class Post.
The person that sent it to me has got a Certificate of Posting, is there anyway I can claim compensation?

  • There's no way you can claim, imv, as royal mails contact(to deliver) is with the sender. Got to disagree about the useless bit, never had a parcel/letter go astray in 50 years. Considering the millions of items each day its not surprising some go adrift.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

Only the sender can make a claim. They would need to get a form from the post office and provide proof of the item that was lost value. If its just a letter with no value your better of writing a complaint to Royal Mail explaining what problems losing the letter cost you and you might get a book of stamps but thats about all.

It's probably best not to overdo it.

Well actually, they successfully send millions a day.
Sometimes things go wrong and you have fallen foul.

For 32p, to send a letter anywhere, i think, is one of the best value and most reliable services around.

    here, here Woody!! well said!

They, on the whole, do a great job, especially at the moment considering the changes taking place and the stress your postie is put under!

I for one wholly support "The Postie" (I'm not saying I agree or disagree with the changes) but there are people out there who do nothing but complain about "royal mail" and it's the poor postmen/women out there on the job that are suffering.

<<<Sits back and waits for the "complainers" :D

Yes, well when using an open forum you tend to get other people's opinions.
