The sling meet sounds like it was lovely - I'm still jealous and trying to persuade DH we need to move to warrington! (he thinks I'm insane 'speaking' to people online let alone meeting some of you - I haven't told him that before I'd met him I'd been to 2 previous mse meets in Edinburgh!!!)

We've had my mum here today - she brought with her my push along (now rather aged). My dad made it for me when I was little and has refurbished it, sanded and revarnished it and it looks fabulous. Annabel has been entranced with the it and the bricks it carries and I have to admit I have been too!

Oh and I forgot to report that the LO is now eating savoury foods. I've dairied everything up - adding milk, cheese or cream cheese and that's done the trick. She's not keen on chicken unless its finger food but loves my HM lasagne and macaroni cheese. And I managed to hide veggies in both successfully :D

    Weezl,

For an EDD of 1st April 2010, the qualifying period is the eight weeks up to and including the week commencing 13th December 2009 – so 25th October 2009 to 19th December 2009. You need to be earning £95/wk gross during these weeks to qualify for Statutory Maternity Pay.

Unfortunately, with your current SMP pay period ending on 26th October, it looks like this will mean you don’t qualify for SMP, however you should qualify for Maternity Allowance (currently 39 weeks at £123.06/wk – ie SMP without the 90% for the first six weeks). MA info here.

Honestly not sure how your company maternity pay is affected by this – you’d have to check your company handbook / employment terms and conditions if you have a copy (you should have) or ask your HR Dept. The company I work for only gives basic SMP so I don’t have anything to compare it to.

You are still entitled to another year of maternity leave because you’ve still been employed by the same company all this time, it’s just the pay that’s the problem.

You asked before what would be the best set up.. Personally, I agree with you, (and as long as money is not an issue) that it would be better not to go back at all, then they can just extend your cover persons contract, and both you and they don’t have the disruption of you going back just for a few weeks/months. However, if you do want to go back for a while, remember the eight weeks notice thing I mentioned to Em earlier – if you were to go back for the qualifying period, you need to get your letter in like yesterday!

I used info here and personalised info calculator here if you want to take a look for yourself J

    HTH xx

MFD, it's a beautiful colour, but I can't wear something that low comfortably. My boobs will get bigger as the day goes on! Thank-you for thinking of me. XXX

ooh I had a good feel of her muslins too :p (Tia's mind will be racing at these comments!) skin much softer than them :D

I missed Mr Glam though because Chris wanted a clean nappy. booo!
Edgar obviously fancies Glam because he is tight with his smiles but flashed about 5 massive ones for her!

Weezl - might there be a decent margin in HM crisps/tortilla chips? (I've just eaten some you see)

Send some over my way Sami, I'm starved. Cooking a leg of pork, I'm attempting tot make crackling but god knows If I've done it right.

Also making skirlie, which is friend oats, YUM YUM, don't have any oatmeal though so I've just crushed up some wholegrain oats.

    Scoff!

Really want to have a nap but that flippin' pork won't be done for another hour. Zzzz
