hi hammy :hello:
get urself on the preg thread, they're a good bunch
yay for no evidence of cancer & congrats on ur pregnancy
ru sure u won't be able to feed from treated breast?
I had 2 breast reductions so removal of lots of tissue and repositioining of nipples twice and both breasts produced milk just not a lot.
Am sure krystal or feelie will be along soon with more advice xxA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
Hammy - it is absolutely possible! I know a few online ladies who've exclusively breastfed from one breast. I also know lots who feed twins and more, including a few real life ones. The early days can be hard, and if LO seems to want to feed all the time, please don't worry that it is due to lack of milk. Babies feed a lot at first! Breastfeeding works on a supply and demand basis and it is possible to feed a baby from one breast. Make sure that if you find it hard, or you have any worries, then get some support - places like La Leche League and the Breastfeeding Network are amazing. Sadly a lot of HVs and MWs aren't that well informed on breastfeeding so if you have any worries, or are told you can't breastfeed, you can always get advice from those places.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0

I would love laser eye surgery!!! I once told my Dad I was going to save up my clubcard vouchers to pay for it and he thought that was such a good idea, that's what he's doing... He goes to Tesco a lot more often than me so it's quite likely he'd be able to do it... Half my vouchers would expire before I had enough...
While we're talking wedding pictures... Here's some of mine... My wedding album is wonderful, but not online...

And our cake, made by hubby's wonderful step Mum: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=2679339&l=f8e0d9226a&id=540180659
Hubby's having to help Aimee with her homework... She's driving me up the wall... She just fanny's about not concentrating on what she's doing... It really does infuriate me!!!!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Krystal you look gorgeous and I LOVE your dress, and I really like the head dress, with the V thing going onto your forehead, I think it looks fab, I want to get married just to wear something like that now hehe.
Lovely cake too0 -
Ooh Hammy, like Feely said it is completely possible to feed from one breast... In fact quite a few women do it by choice because baby feeds better from one side etc... Do have a word with your consultant about milk production on the treated side... It might be perfectly possible to feed from that side too... I'll have a nosey around and see if I can find any information for you... I'm assuming it was a lumpectomy and not a mastectomy obviously...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Thanks for your help and encouragement.
Glam, the radiotherapy destroyed my milk ducts - I def can't feed with the treated breast unfortunately.
Feelie, you lifted my hope - thank you!The one thing children wear out faster than shoes is parents:D

Thanks Krystal, I am 100% about being unable to feed from that breast. I regularly see my consultant and he says it is impossible. Yes, it was a lumpectomy but it is the radiotherapy that does the damage. The one thing children wear out faster than shoes is parents

Ah, well... I thought that might be the case... But still it's perfectly possible to feed from one side... Or more than 1 baby from both sides... Did you hear about the chinese lady that was breastfeeding 8 babies after the earth quake? She must of been pinned to the sofa!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls...
