Urrgh. Been up for a while and night really wasnt that bad (one long trouble patch 12.30-1.30 was all!), but somehow I still feel low-ebb, dragged through a hedge, took me 30 mins to be able to keep my eyes fully focused... etc. Think I'll be trying for a daytime nap today

Elle, you are so bad about sleep! :( And Sami sorry you suffered last night too.
Thing is Glam, I look at that 1st photo, and I think I look quite pretty, and I look at the 2nd photo and all I see is mm the mummy, not a pretty me if that makes sense !!

For gosh sakes. I can see you changed, but you are lovely in the second picture. I guess I can understand missing what you were like, but you look really nice and really normal in the second pic :) you should be proud!

What are the first signs of teething to look out for?
    Sami_Bee wrote: »
Oh just saw ur post elle people tend to blame everything on teething but most babies don't teeth until around 6mth; off food/milk, waking up crying, chewing on things, exsesive drooling, red cheeks and sore bum are all possible signs.

Well... that may be true but Elijah cut his first tooth a little before 4 months and was showing teething signs for weeks before-hand, and some babies are born with first tooth! For us, signs were more biting and chewing on inappropriate objects (end of beer bottle  for example), LOTS more drooling (and that's always the consistent sign for Elijah - he's not very drooly when not teething), red cheeks and sudden night time crying periods. One time we also had some fever.

I don't have any friends so wouldn't have a bridesmaid or anything lol

My friends all looked very relieved when I told them I wasn't having any bridesmaids :) I have three close girl friends and one fracquaintance who thinks that because I told her she could be my bridesmaid when I was six years old it still applied. Having four bridesmaids at a ceremony with 40 guests seemed like serious overkill so I didn't bother. Very Best Friend was my witness though.
same here (not to offend anyone getting married or is married) but the way me and philip think why do you need a band of gold and piece of paper to say you love someone  plus why wuld i want to spend money on feeding peole that i either never see or dont really care about :rotfl:x

We got married because we were having a baby and Husband would have had no next of kin status in Germany if he was just Boyfriend, so couldn't have been in the operating theatre if (when ) it ended up a C-section, or if I was unconscious he couldn't have made any decisions, and the baby wouldn't have been eligible for his citizenship. Very pragmatic dull reasons. We had the party bit because we wanted to have the party bit - 40 people at the ceremony and lunch afterwards and then we had dinner for just family and closest friends in the evening.
Prepare to gasp in amazment at my big fat gut, but check my boobs, WAY TOO BIG

Those are some very impressive boobs, but you have no belly to speak of. I think the boobs look great - so long as you have some decent scaffolding under them I bet they look wonderful.

I always get myself ready, put a bit of make up, do my hair and then feel like I spoil the effect by putting glasses on - do you ever feel like that?

No, I love my glasses! I didn't wear them for our wedding ceremony, could barely see anything and didn't feel like me, so by the time we got to the reception I had them back on.
If you are ever in Aberdeen and see someone stuffing there boobs back into there bra, pulling up their jeans that have fallen down whilst walking down the street, then shout hello. I must look like a right weirdo lmao

    Sexy :)
My boobs are always falling out of my bras. I was a 32B before I got pregnant and now my nips are resting on the tops of the cups of my 34C bras and looking like the Eye of Sauron with the stretch marks around them.

BM - I always found that foundation looked cracked and ming on my skin, went to Boots and they said to moisturise and then slap the foundation on (I always used to wait for mosituriser to soak in )
Why not go to Boots and get someone to show you, then buy it while it's 3 for 2? Initial outlay will cost you a bit but if you don't wear it all the time it shoudl last you.

Genius advice from Glam. Foundation can also crack if you put on too much.

I guess you feel like it's 2 different people - before LO's come along we have all the time in the world to get ready now I'm lucky if I remember to brush my teeth before 4pm (Yes, I'm a minger I know!)

    :o;):rotfl:

OH been a PITA about sex today - banging on about how horny he is but when I offered to 'help' him he declined and saidit wasn't fair and that he'd wait. Then 5 mins later moaning again!

Happening here as well, and the one time we did it was painful. I was pleased to have got it out of the way, almost, but I'm in no rush to do it again :rotfl:

My poor monster is getting her front top two now at almost 7 weeks - they're sharp and pointy and just beneath the surface, but you could feel them when she was born.

Husband came into the bedroom last night to burp and change the monster after feeding and said how worried he was getting because we've only been married seven months and he sometimes feels like I'm so angry with him all the time that he's afraid it's all going south. I am angry a lot of the time - I'm frustrated because our parenting styles are very different and I feel like he's setting me up to be bad cop from the start, and because I hate clutter and at the moment we live in what looks almost like a warehouse, and because I'm doing so much more householdy stuff than he is and there are things I can't do that he isn't. But I vent (mostly here - sorry and thank you all :T) and it's better again. And I want to say how very wonderful he is in so many ways because I whinge about him too much and he really is a wonderful man.

    As you were :)

Oh I meant to say, to everyone who is "just" shortsighted (as opposed to more complicated eye issues!), no-one has mentioned corrective laser surgery?

It's very MSE, it doesn't involve general anaesthetic, it has a very very high success rate for generic myopia up to a certain point, and the transformation from reaching for your glasses every morning, or staggering to the bathroom mirror and ramming your fingers into your eyes for lenses, versus actually being able to read the alarm clock on the other side of the bed without DOING anything.... is huge!

15 minutes of terror, a couple days of some pain, a couple weeks of discomfort, and then 13 years (so far) of basically perfect vision. For the cost of 2 years of lenses. :money:

Anyone who hasn't, do look into it!

If I had the money I would do it. It always say from so much per eye but I figured thats for a small prescription, I'm a -3.75 in each eye so think it will end up costing loads!
being able to read the bottles in the shower would b nice!

Sugar I do love your talent for descriptive writing! :)
bit of an out there idea but what about putting a note on the fridge or something with 2 columns headed Reasons I.. like you today and don't like you today. Then maybe when the don't like column has more in it than the like column he knows to get his finger out and do some crawling!

For what it's worth Glam, and bearing in mind my experience is 13 years out of date, my eyes were around -3.x and -4.x, and my price was the cheapest that they offered - i.e. if your eyes are plain "quite shortsighted, not shocking, no astigmatism" etc, it's the most straightforward. If I were you I would investigate! I also got to pay for the 2 eyes 3 months apart, as that's the way they're done (gives first eye full healing time before the second gets messed with, so that you always have ok vision in at least one eye!).

    I have astigmatism

ETA: also the recovery now is much quicker than when you had yours done, due to new techniques ;)
