My entire wedding and honeymoon cost £3.5 and 2k of that was the honeymoon !!!!
I dunno how much weddings generally cost lol, but I think I read the average is about 17k:eek:
A wedding we went to last year, the bride spent 3k on her dress (and it was minging:o) then they had open bar all night, married in a big fancy castle, mind you the bacon sarnies at the end of the night were nice, and my kinda thing, not the fancy food served earlier on!0 -
ahhh just wondered MM ive just heard that alot ... still 5.5k for wedding and honeymoon ..... id rather spend £800 on going away and doing and spend the rest on my kids and the house ... maybe its just me and the way i think i just never really got the whole married/wedding thing x
Still searching .....:)

How do you do it then? I'd like to do myself up proper for the things coming up, but I havent a clue where to start, I quite like smokey eyes so what colour of eyeshadow would you use for that, like a brown/black/grey? and do I put it up to my brow? THankfully I tend to keep those well groomed, but I looked in the mirror two weeks ago and they looked like they were knitting together, oh dear.0 -

the absolute max budget for our wedding is 2k and i think we will come in under
the hotel package includes a night there for us, the ceremony, room hire, a meal for 30, evening buffet for 100, dj, and a few drinks with the meal, all for 1k, and my nan is getting my dress and bridesmaids dresses as our wedding present. wont need cars as myself or bridesmaids will drive there and get changed there before the ceremony, we already have the rings, a few cheap suits and fake flowers later, and thats one cheap wedding that looks like it wasnt lol!Mummy to

Hi WM - how ru and Alex?

My theory with weddings is that so long as the venue is big enough for the number of people you want to invite, your mum cries, and everyone has something to eat and drink afterwards (even if they have to pay for the drinks themselves), and gets to dance if you want them to, then that's all you need. Everything else is just frosting really. The people are the important bit.
We didn't have as cheap wedding as we ~could~ have, but didn't spend that much either. Got a taxi to the ceremony, walked to the reception, and made loads of stuff ourselves. We spent about £7k on the wedding. The in-laws paid for the honeymoon as our wedding present, and we only had a few bits on the gift list, and asked people to give us euros so we could spoil ourselves. It's not as if we will get to do that again for at least 20 years now, so we made the most of itIsabella Molly born 14th January 2009
