  • BM Hope you heard me shouting hello as I passed by today. On way to beach with the dog. DH said "who the f**k is Button"

Hope were all well today, I'm only on quickly so haven't read back properly.

Didn't take El swimming today coz I didn't really like the thought of there being more snot in the pool than water. Poor babe is still all snotty!!

  • Afternoon all. I hope everyone is ok. I've not caught up since I went to bed last night, so I hope I've not missed any drama.

Izzy is really getting the hang of pulling herself up on the furniture, and still won't drink anything. She's not drinking much from a cup either, so I'm getting a bit worried she's not getting enough. She does keep weeing on me whenever I change her nappy though, so I suppose she must be ;) I have to keep sneaking mouthfulls in when I can. And make sure there is yoghurt or custard or cheese in all her meals so she has enough calcium.

We had a mega nap together in the big bed this morning, so now I feel a lot better. Still feeling a bit under the weather, but loads less emotional about it all than earlier in the week. Probably doesn't hurt that she slept through again last night. We were up at 5:55, but I don't mind that too much if I don't have to wake up in the night - alarm goes of at 6:30 anyway.

Oh, and watching the top 40 on tmf at the mo. Who wants to see Mika in his pants?!! Someone send the man a crate of mars bars - skinny b00ger.

    Better than a Flu Shot!
    Miss Beatrice,
    The church organist,
    Was in her eighties
    And had never been married.
She was admired for her sweetness
    And kindness to all.
    One afternoon the pastor
Came to call on her and she showed him into her quaint sitting room.
She invited him to have a seat while she prepared tea.
As he sat facing her old Hammond organ,
The young minister noticed a cute glass bowl sitting on top of it.
The bowl was filled with water, and in the water Floated, of all things, a condom!
    When she returned
    With tea and scones,
    They began to chat.
The pastor tried to stifle his curiosity
About the bowl of water and its strange floater, but soon it got the better of him and he could no longer resist.
    'Miss Beatrice', he said,
'I wonder if you would tell me about this?'
    Pointing to the bowl.
'Oh, yes,' she replied, 'Isn't it wonderful?
I was walking through the park a few months ago and I found this little package on the ground.

The directions said to place it on the organ, keep it wet and that it would prevent the spread of disease. Do you know I haven't had the flu All winter.

Congratulations on the house Caz - forgot to say that before.
elle - one omy friends uses one of these to co-sleep. I have had to move izzy to her own room as she talks in her sleep too much and it wakes me up if i am in the same room.
I'm trying to convince OH about one of those for next time.
    Has everyone disappeared ??
    Yes. :D

I keep being told that I'm bigger than last time but I guess that's down to the old elasticity having gone a bit to pot ie being stretched once already
I got annoyed enough the first time by people commenting on my size. The first few months people kept commenting on how I wasn't showing (I was but it just made me look normal size instead of really thin) and then people started telling me I was huge and even asking me if I was sure it wasn't twins.

With all the talk of Christmas, has anyone given any thought to what they would like? What's on your Christmas list?
I keep meaning to write my ideas down. I want a slow cooker (because I'm always waiting for it to finish so I can use it for something else) and the Economy Gastronomy book because even if it's not that Economy, it does have some good ideas in it.

Elle - I knew what I wanted aagggees ago! I'm getting a new engagement ring!
How can you get a new engagement ring? Surely it isn't an engagement ring if you get it now? I can't wear mine because it started wearing away my wedding ring. I calculated that it would be gone by our 11th wedding anniversary if I didn't stop wearing the engagement ring.
Toby was laughing at OH playing peekaboo last night. Wasn't the game he liked though, just the word. Every time I said it he really giggled.
Alice still loves that even now. (Although you have to hide properly now - covering your face with your hands just doesn't cut it anymore.)
I had to wean Ello early due to poor weight gain if it helps to know someone else had the same sort of thing? It hasn't actually made any difference, shes 28weeks now and only weighs 12lb 2oz.

I'm seriously considering not going back to baby clinic cos it winds me up being told that she doesn't weigh enough.
 It's so annoying that people get told to wean because of poor weight gain as there is no evidence that it works.

:grouphug: I imagine if you suddenly stopped going to the clinic, they might follow it up since her weight has been an issue but maybe you could go less frequently?

I think it's exciting. :o It went past our village but sadly it was a Sunday so I missed it.
