Who can get Working Tax Credit
You can get Working Tax Credit if you or your partner are working enough hours a week and your income is low enough. You don't need to have children to qualify. It doesn't matter whether you are working for someone- else or self-employed.
If you are not sure about your right to claim Working Tax Credit because of your immigration status, you should consult an experienced adviser - for example, at a Citizens Advice Bureau. To search for details of your nearest CAB, including those that can give advice by email, click onnearest CAB.
The number of hours a week you have to work to be able to get Working Tax Credit depend on your circumstances. There are four different ways you can qualify:-- If you are 16 or over and you work 16 hours or more a week, you can get Working Tax Credit if you are responsible for a child or young person (see under heading Working Tax Credit if you are responsible for a child)
- If you are 16 or over and you work 16 hours or more a week, you can also get Working Tax Credit if you are disabled, and you get a qualifying benefit (see under heading Working Tax Credit if you are disabled)
- If you are 50 or over, you work 16 hours or more a week and you started work within the last three months, you can get Working Tax Credit if you were getting certain benefits for at least six months before you started work (see under heading Working Tax Credit if you are over 50)
- If you are 25 or over and you work 30 hours or more a week you may get Working Tax Credit. In this case, you do not have to have a child in order to claim, but you do have to work enough hours.

Working Tax Credit if you are responsible for a child
If you are responsible for a child or young person, you can get Working Tax Credit provided you work at least 16 hours a week and your income is low enough. A child is someone under 16, and a young person is someone who is 16, 17, 18 or 19 and still in full-time education up to A level or equivalent, or on certain approved training courses. You are responsible for a child or young person if they normally live with you or you have main responsibility for their care. You cannot usually get Working Tax Credit if your child is in local authority care.
You may be able to get Working Tax Credit for a short period after your child is 16 or leaves school, depending on when their birthday is and what they do on leaving school.
If you are on maternity leave, paternity leave or adoption leave and you normally work 16 hours or more, you can claim Working Tax Credit before you go back to work, as long as you are responsible for a child. If it is your first baby and you are not responsible for any other children, you will have to wait until the child is born, or comes to live with you before you can claim. The two best things I have done with my life

Jas still gets to play with the boxes that her presents come in, but Santa builds everything and gets rid of all the rubbish so mummy and daddy dont have to do anything on Christmas morning !!
ETA - we do the same carla, Jas is November too, but those are normally smaller toys, and she doesnt really care if things are put away for a while anyway !! But now she would kill us if she didnt play with everything there and then !!The two best things I have done with my life

Ooops didn't notice further down she has played with one before.
I still think they are pap though
Keira's fringe annoyed me!! It kept falling back to a straight fringe so it looked stupid because one end was longer than the other so I had to cut it, it was making me feel hot and restless knowing it wasn't "right"
Anyone know why her hair won't stay in a side fringe? Is it because her hair is fine? Her hair used to be a side fringe when she was younger. God knows, but I hate how it looks mushroom like! She wants to grow her hair longer too, but she has stupid layers in it so will take a while - Not going to the polish hairdressers again, they dunno what I'm saying and what I want!!0 -
but what to get OH?the man who has everything :rotfl:
We made a pact that we only spend up to a tenner on each other and just buy odds and ends to open on the day. It works well for us as neither of us like getting presents anway, and we don't buy each other Christmas cards either :money:
I've started some Christmas shopping. I'm in and out of shops every day for work, so when I see things, I buy them and put them away. I've had so many occasions before where I've seen things and then gone back to buy them and they've been sold out. Just bought a Charlie and Lola top for my neice the other day as she's crackers on them.
Was reading a book with Charlotte before she went to bed. It's about the life cycle of caterpillars. Read through it and asked her what she'd learned about caterpillars. She told me that caterpillars turn into butterflies and they don't wear shoes:rotfl:
James has been badly behaved this evening and she was talking about him when she was in the bath. She said "James was naughty today" and I agreed he was. Then she said "James was crying" and I said I knew and he made Mammy cry too. She looked at me and said "awwww poor Mammy. Need to kiss her better now" and she gave me a huge wet kiss :grinheartHere I go again on my own....0 -
You have to train hair into a side fringe. Wash it and blow dry it into the side parting then either use a clip to hold it or hairspray or gel for a couple of weeks and it will be fineThe two best things I have done with my life

Ahhhhhh is that what you do? Teehee, well I've went and cut it into a straight one now haven't I, still could do it and then when she gets it cut next will look good. I like pinning her fringe completely back too, I think she looks much prettier when you can actually see her face!!0
