Ham hocks are great, cheap good food!
When I was pregnant with DS1 I used to ask my nan to get them and cook then then I'd pick at it all night, but I used to spinkle salt in the peices too :o _pale_

hello everyone - I Think I can remember everything

skinty I tried gina ford as I'm a routine person. However I had a non sleeping baby for a long time and so it just didn't work for us, however now she sleeps I have my own routine that is very similar to the CLB I just didn't realise it until I looked back at the book a few weeks ago. I agree with the do whatever works for you appraoch. try a bit of everything from everone - that way you get all the good bits ;)

Susan lol atAlice saying hello to the baby! that's very cute.

Christmas I have bought a small present for LO from Santa claus. I am currently compiling a list to give to the grandparents so they can chose something that I know she'll use/like/need. Its a mix of toys, clothes and practical things. As her birthday is 6th Feb, I'm going for a range of ages - the idea being some will be put away for a while and that way we don't end up with a pile of plastic rubbish only suitable for a couple of months :D

sami - is the holiday sorted yet?

elle - hope the new meds help and aren't too much of a faff.

buttons I'm also scared of smears. Big well done for your trip to the Drs. I must follow your example.

welcome to all the newbies

weezl your iron levels are fab. Mine are still only at 8 , but GP not overly worried and I'm still taking daily supplements and eating lots of leafy green veg, lentils etc - I think it's just me!!!

lady - hope the first day at nursery went well.

keely - happy 1st birthday to your gorgeous LO Elliot!

emmm...I can't remember the rest now. Oh well.....

We've had a good day here. Life is getting busy so there seems less and less time to be on here! I'm doing my best to scan read what you are all up to. Doing some domestic catch-up and organisation and doing a research paper to help my dad out. Good to get the brain ticking over again and help the parents out a bit.

LO just had strips of roast chicken for tea followed by custard apples - it was tasty (what do you mean I wasn't meant to taste every 3rd bite?!)

Smear wasn't even bad, for some reason I thought they clamped your cervix and took a bit :o

They do for a cervix biopsy. I was laying there legs spread, and she said "this might sting a bit" and got some scissor things and just cut a lump out

They also had a camera and a TV screen and said they could turn it on so I could watch the biopsy and the freezing cells off bit. Why the hell would I want to watch that? So I ended up laying watching The Flying Doctors and pretending there was nothing going on down there.

Lucky! I hate them, that whole speculum business really bothers me.

There's an episode of Friends where Susan goes for an ante-natal appointment and Ross picks one up and does duck impressions. I always think of that and want to giggle when I see one now :o
Here I go again on my own....
  • Can anyone recommend any decent coloured muslins? Mine are all a bit on the thin side and thought I'd treat myself to some more. I'd like some bright, or at least something other than white! Red, Blue, Green or Mint - something other than white! Any ideas?
