red lentils have the shortest cooking time and don't need presoaking, so I'd recommend those, they also go down to a soft mush, whereas green lentils keep their shape so could possibly present a choking hazard for lovely celia :eek:. I'd give them 25 mins in the tomatoey sauce, but you'll probably need to add quite a bit more liquid or stock as they are very thirsty!

I tend to add stock in dribs and drabs like a risotto, so I get the consistency I want

I know me too. One bargain is great, 100 bargains on things you dont really need (but really really want) is not so great.

Yeah, ebay gets a lot of my monies. We need a support group for eBay addicts.
