Hi guys
Well finally DH & I (we have 2 kids aged 3 and 6 yrs) are in the situation after paying off all our debts to start SAVING for our first house deposit (need 12k).
But..
We are in desperate need of a car (Well I think so) We currently drive Vauxhall Astra 1998 which is getting too small for us and kids can no longer take their bikes etc. Also I always have to sit in back with my 3 yr old as I have a VERY tall 6 yr old and VERY tall hubby.
Do we keep going with our OLD astra or buy a 2nd hand MPV for say 2k? Any suggestions on which to go for? Looking for cheap family cars that are reliable.
Or do we carry on with our old car and keep saving. By Xmas we should have 2k saved which will may have to use for a car instead of putting it in the house deposit piggy bank:mad:

Hi - did any of you ladies have Mama's & Papa's maternity leggings? Just seen some on eBay and wondered if they're as stretchy as most other leggings cos i've been buying a size bigger recently but these aren't0

aww that is soooo cute!!'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
Sugarpants, do you need the extra seats of an MPV?? For boot space you would have to remove the back 2 seats anyway. The head room is more in an MPV. But, an estate would give you the boot room also, less head space but you get more leg room in some of them because they are long.
We have a trajet MPV and a megane estate.0 -

HELP!
this is our dilemma at the moment. we need a bigger/newer car as the one we have is too awkward with baby seats for us all. but if we dont buy the car we will be debt free!! (apart from mortgage) think the car is on its last legs anyway but is hard to say what is the best (not necessarily the right) thing to do.
its a hard choice'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
i would go with the car personally - 12k is a lot of money to save for a deposit, and chances are the car would need to eat into that money that you save for repairs etc anyway if its that old, so the money you save for the deposit would end up going on a car anyway IYSWIM?Mummy to
