cross between border collie (thats sheep dog to you and me) and a dobeman ... he was the runt of the litter but hes not a small dog when i went to buy him there was him and his 3 brothers and they looked more like sheep dogs he was the only one with the dobeman colours ad i had to have him plus he was the only one to come up to me hes generally as soft as pig muck but when you need him to look after you hes there without fail x
I would never get the one that comes up to you from a litter because that's the dominant one ;) (nothing wrong with it though) I'd always go for the one hiding in the corner much easier to train and I think more loving :D
Dad doesn't like my choice though coz I usually pick the ones that are shy and useless for hunting :p my first dog that was actually MINE was so shy I had to carry her almost everywhere coz she froze with fear at everything! (not easy when were talking a 3 stone springer and I was about 11yo!)

Has he only just dared to tell you that now that he's in another country? :rotfl:

he has mentioned it to his boss but just said a week in oct coz we hadn't picked then, he was supposed to put in the form this morning before he left for scotland but didn't and also hasn't managed to tell boss over phone which is balls coz the boss is a stress head that phones him about 10 times a day when he's on site!

My parents' dog was the one who was cowering at the back of a litter of seven.. She's slowing down now, age 12, but if she was the quiet one, I dread to think of the distruction the others have caused! ;)
