Any ideas to reduce my text charges?

Only thing with 02 genie sim is you have to top up £10 per month to get those text. Vodafone do a promotion at the moment for payg sim cards where you get 1000 free text (to any network rather than just virgin) so if you get one of those that should last you for a good while. That might be worth considering.
Either that or getting a orange text only deal - 3000txt p/m (£20 p/m) and selling the phone to subsidise the line rental cost.0 -
You can always get more with a kind word and a 2-by-4 than with just a kind word.0

You should never pay £9.99 for an o2 sim - it should be a crime - I must have 20 that I've got for free & regularly give them away.Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!0

tcall wrote:I'm on Vodafone Anytime 100 (100 xnet mins and 50 free texts), however i'm using about 200 texts at the moment. I've got 12 months left on my contract and Vodafone wont move me to their Anytime 125 tariff @ £20 a month which includes 250 texts, because 'that deal is for new customers only'!
They said i can buy a bundle of 100 texts for £6, but this would REPLACE my 50 free texts, and not go on top of them!
Any suggestions?
Are you sure thats what they said, my girlfriend has done this and she gets her original texts PLUS the bundle she's ordered. thats what the bundle is for on all networks, same for me on Three and all my other mates on their networks, its there in addition to your allowance, ring up Vodafone and speak to another operator, they might have a bit more common sense. Also ask about what bigger text bundles they do as I'm sure they'll do more than just 100..£4988 Lloyds TSB Mastercard
£400 O/D Lloyds TSB
£2650 Lloyds TSB Loan
£5070 Black Horse Finance
Skint, but I have a plan.... an MSE Plan!!!0 -
