Hello .. I'm leaving heathrow at 6 in the morning - the only hotel in the airport complex is the Hilton .... are there any bargains to be had for a one night stay? I've searched and searched on the web, and the best I can find is £133.38 (112 + tax) Argggh.
    Thanks!

Try the Sheraton at Heathrow (not the Skyline), I've had some very good Web deals there. I paid half the price of a couple of American colleagues on one occasion, AND, they had "regular customer" cards !!

The letter says "The hotel no longer offers complimentarty Car Parking. Car Parking will be charged @ £3.00 per car per day for residents staying overnight."

Thus it seems if you are using the restaurant, bar or leisure facilites you can park for free!!! I can't imagine customers calling for a meal being willing to £3.

Sorry, there is a barrier to enter the hotel carpark and a barrier to exit, it only allows exit with a token which you pay for at reception, so if you're going for a beer or a meal, they've got you.

Occasionally they leave the barrier up at night, as I've been to evening functions there and just driven straight out, but ho hum.

Is this not just another case of public pressure attempting to force the price lower and lower. To do this they offer greatly reduced prices to put heads on beds and then recoup their profits from elsewhere e.g. food, bar, room service and car parking. If you you pay a low base price you can not expect it to include all the services.

I accept that as prices come down, extras become more prevalent (aka, RyanAir). However, Hilton have been doing these special price deals for near on 8 years now and never charged for parking before. They don't charge at all their hotels, just some.

When I go abroad on holiday (Vegas to Majorca) on your package holidays you never pay for parking, and yet those holiday prices are cheap. I think on this occasion, Hilton are charging to disuade people from parking there and punishing genuine hotel residents instead. There is a hotel directly opposite the Hilton, it is a Holiday Inn (previously a PostHouse Forte) and they do not charge for their car-park, despite being in the exact same location with similar leisure and business facilities?!. I'll leave the forum to form their own conclusions from that.

Hilton Tree Tops in Aberdeen charge £3 so it's not just in England.

Really OP, if you don't like paying for parking, petrol etc then just take the train.

Thanks, for reminding me it is still cheaper than the train (even if I do use the M6 toll)!!!
