Problem installing anti virus

Ok, download then install Unlocker (direct download link).
Now open My Computer > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files > find the folder where it's installed to (ie: Tall Armour) - right click it, and click Unlocker from the drop down list. then click the Unlock All button.
Now try renaming (don't delete) the folder. If it still won't rename, bring Unlocker up again and Kill Process then Unlock All, and try renaming again.
With any luck, you'll have renamed the folder and be able to reinstall it, in order to then uninstall it.Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.0 -
Have tried both suggestions. Says " Cannot rename Tall Emu. Access is denied."0

Poo - seems like a pig to get rid of.
How much data would you need to backup, to do a reinstall? Not forgetting the obvious, such as emails, favourites (in Firefox or Internet Explorer) and My Documents.
I'm thinking you'll be better off backing everything up to disc/USB sticks/another harddrive, formatting your C: drive and reinstalling Windows XP again. You'll probably spend less time, too!
Do you have your Windows XP disc, and serial number? Do you feel confident enough to reinstall? If so, make sure you have your network or modem drivers on disc, and give it a whirl.
If it all goes pear shaped, come on here and ask for help.

I do not have a disk. It is a Dell computer and I suppose they have a way to re-install. I have an extensive music collection and photographs and an external hard drive. I certainly would not be confident.0

Problem solved. Thank to all the experts for your time and expertise. I used the Tall Emu Online Armor user forum and eventually the solution turned out to be installation in safe mode and then uninstall. Now my anti virus is updating. Thanks again.0
