Problem installing anti virus
Comments
-
I am currently unable to register with Avira possibly because when the program is downloaded I cannot get through on the internet. So I have activated Windows Defender as firewall but have no anti virus. Have uninstalled Comodo.
You dont need to register to have Avira running (Although if the net doesnt work then youll not be able to update ANY anti virus)
Windows defender isnt a firewall. I hope your using SOME firewall (Presumably windows now Comodo is gone):idea:0 -
Thanks aliEnRIC. Have just downloaded Comodo firewall and anti virus combined. The internet is OK but the anti virus will not update on account of the internet connection. I don't know if you remember but you sorted me out beautifully on a previous occasion.0

I tried Comodo two days ago; I couldn't get the AV to update either, so I got rid of it. Since my system is situated behind a router with a firewall of its own I don't think I really needed it anyway.Have just downloaded Comodo firewall and anti virus combined. The internet is OK but the anti virus will not update on account of the internet connection.

Well here id suggest switching on windows firewall and uninstalling comodo
Run CCleaners 'registry' cleaner part (Backup when it asks)
And see how it is then
If the net works fine id recommend trying out PC Tools firewall instead:idea:0 -

When setting up PC Tools firewall it says it has found security software that conflicts with it. That being Online Armor Firewall. Says to uninstall it. How? It does not show up on Revo Uninstall.0

The fact there are 2 exe files suggests its actually running
Is it not under 'TALL EMU'? If it is then uninstall it
Is it not running bottom right in the taskbar?:idea:0 -
Cannot see any sign of it. Should I re install it and then remove it?0

Download and reinstall/upgrade Tall Armour, then restart the computer.
From Control Panel, uninstall Tall Armour then restart the computer. Run CCleaner's to remove any rubbish, then run the registry cleaner from within CCleaner.
With any luck, that will wipe away the Tall Armour firewall - which is a firewall I've personally never heard of.Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.0 -
Have downloaded Online Armor but it will not install.0
