Congratulations by the way.
I purchased a second hand car the other day that was untaxed. I phoned my insurance company and I could drive it home and then to the post office on another day when I had the insurance certificate and such to get the tax and be covered but not to any other desttination. I think it was covered under the trade licence thing.Nice to save.0 -
Just a question? How come you won that car on 499 kitkash as i've seen things on there going for lots more, thousands more. Not sure how it all works??Envy is the most stupid of vices, for there is no single advantage to be gained from it.:A0

See - that's what happens when the "thanks" button goes on holiday - when it comes back I keep clicking on it instead of the "quote" button  Never mind - have a free "Thanks!".
If you look on the site, there are two different coloured bidding panels - some are yellow, but most are blue. The blue ones are the traditional "highest bid wins" type, the yellow ones are the "lowest unique bid" auctions. So if you had several bids the winner would be the one that had the lowest bid, that no-one else got. So as I won it with 449 points, I'm assuming that at least two people bid for every number up to and including 448 - mine was the first number that no-one else bid.
Hope that explains it! When I spoke to Nestle the other day, apparently quite a few people had rung to complain that they should have won, as they put a higher bid in!0 -

If anyone is interested, it looks like there may be another "lowest unique bid" auction for a car.
It says "coming soon":Peugeot 1007 Sport 1.6 2-Tronic: Item No. PE16
Metallic Silver
You could be driving away in a brand new Peugeot 1007 Sport 1.6 2 Tronic if you’re the highest bidder
1007 is a totally original concept which creates a new way of looking at, and living with, your car. 1007 has a Euro NCAP 5 star rating and is particularly ingenious with its electric, sliding doors, 2-Tronic gearbox, Cameleo interior and exceptional versatility.
Car in metallic Aluminium Silver paint
Features include:
Remote controlled electric sliding doors
16” alloy wheels
1.6 2-Tronic petrol engine
ABS with EBFD and Emergency Brake Assist
Electronic Stability Programme
2 front, 2 side, 2 curtain and steering column airbags
Removable and interchangeable Cameleo seat covers
Digital air conditioning with climate control
Automatic headlamps and rain-sensing front wipers.
This auction is for persons of 18 years old and over.
Images are for illustration purpose only. The car on offer in the auction may differ in colour or specification to that shown in the picture.
I know it says to the highest bidder in the blurb, but it's actually next to the normal "lowest bid" auction gadget.0 -
You can find out what value is online...ebay would be good for mass market thing but check how much the listing price is (theres free car listing soon I think?) as it can get steep if you put a reserve on...do you have a specific car mag locally...free ads can be good (the yellow one) or just leave it on teh street with note in but do emphasis the limited edition bit, fact that its pink (some girlies dream!!) etc...I would DEFINATeLY keep quiet that you won it but it will be hard to explain why you're selling it so new!! Regardless..enjoy..post us a photo when its delivered.Am so chuffed for you & if you are so incline blow a bit of luck to the rest of us - I never win anything but hopefully doing more now will win something soon!!!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1!
