  • Gratz Stumpy, it's fantastic news. Just some advice for you, with regards to selling the car. I won a mini cooper s about 18 months ago from Ladbrokes and I did sell it on ebay. What I found out afterwards is that I should have put it in the specialist magazines, with it being pink you might think about putting it in some modification magazines etc. The ads cost relatively nothing and it gives you bigger and better exposure for your car. You can always ask the supplying dealership if they wanna buy it back, mine did but offered a lower price than I got off ebay. With it being limited edition I'm sure that it would have a bigger draw for them. Also with regards to insurance if yours doesnt come with a years free or you need to insure it before you pick it up try and make the sale inplace before you get it, thus you can use the 14 day cooling off period that most insurers offer (yes I'm an insurance rep and still use this little trick). Anyway after all that it's fantastic news and dont forget to enjoy it for a couple of days before you get rid of it!!!

I got an e-mail from nestle today (despite being told previously I'd get a letter in the post from Ford!) saying that they were in the process of registering it. Once they'd done that and got the registration number, they need me to insure it, so that they can tax it - they reckon they'll be able to deliver it in the next week or so.

How does the insurance work - if I only have the car for, say, a month, can I get 11 months insurance payments back?

I did think about the specialist mags - I'll have to do a bit of research because I've no idea what they are! I have done a bit of research on e-bay - won't cost me too much to sell it (once I discovered there was a seperate rate for motors!) - what most people seem to do is say the car has to be collected, some ask for a deposit within a few days of the auction end, and then payment with either cheque (collect car on money clearing) or bankers draft.

How did you do it, Witchy? I don't even know what a bankers draft is - is that something that guarantees payment?

I also noticed that a few people put a clause on the auction on the lines of "this is also advertised elsewhere and I reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time". Are E-bay okay with this?

    A Big Congratulations.
I remember the amount of work you put in collating the Argos lists some time back which helped others a great deal.

Just shows that good things happen to those who are really selfless and who take the trouble to help others.
