divadee wrote:you could always put it on ebay with a reserve of what you want. Thats what i would do. Then you can appeal to the mass market and get the proper price of what this limited edition should make!!!
The problem is knowing what the "proper price" is! But it seems like I've had loads of good suggestions - I'm going to have a look in an Autotrader as well, to get a rough idea of how it works - I did see one on a Google cache on ebay where the top offer for a similar car had been about £12.5k but the reserve price hadn't been met, so obviously that person was expecting more :rolleyes:stumpy sent u pm
I've replied, thanks foxyuk.0 -
Iffy_Wallet wrote:Excellent news Stumpy. Good luck to you raising some cash with it.
If I'm really lucky, I can clear the credit cards and have a bit left over to treat myself! (although after being well MSE brainwashed, I might just have to put any extra into a savings account for a bit until a "bargain" comes along! - or the washing machine/dishwasher/TV/freezer dies LOL).0 -

What is this KitKash?
Thanks - I reaaalllllyyy miss the thanks button! I'll try to remember to click on everyone when it comes back!
You're kidding about the KitKash right? Promotional packs of various nestle products - kitkats, lion bars, etc, have codes on that you type into the kitkash website in exchange for points - for example a pack of 10 two fingers kitkats will get you 500 points. There are two different types of auctions running - the fairly standard type where the highest bid wins, and then the "lowest unique bid" auctions - which is how I managed to win the car (I think - still not completely convinced, despite seeing my name scroll past on the website!). There are also things to "buy" with the points, but not much of interest (to me anyway). :beer:0 -
Congratulations!
I'm really pleased for you! It's nice to hear of fellow MSEers winning, but especially when it's a biggy. Well done! You could always ask the comp organisers how much the car is valued at as 'you need to know for insurance purposes'.I would if I could but I can't so I won't!0 -
brilliant news tanya ive seen your name all over kitkash it is nice to hear someone win a big prize!!!!:T :T0

Congratulations!
Wish it was me - would you swop it for my three year old red Ka and 36 four finger kits kats (they were BOGOF at Sainsbury's).0 -
Stumpy wrote:It wasn't only kitkats this time - there are various things that have the points on, including Aeros, Fruit Pastilles, Lion Bars, Rolos (yum!) and Toffee Crisps.
Now if anyone has any suggestions on how to dispose of a pink two seater Ford Ka, please let me know!!0 -

One 2005 STANDARD edition streetka is going on flea bay for 8k at the moment with a while to go. You should get 10 to 12 for it from a collector I would say. Try selling to Beulie (sp)? lol.Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:0 -

No, I haven't heard of it, I don't tend to buy much chocolate/biscuits. Will look out for them in future. Thanks.0 -

Cheers - I had a look at the Autotrader online, and various garages were selling the "luxury" streetkas, second hand ones, for around £11k-£13k - although they may have been done up or something - can't see why else they're trying to sell second hand cars at "new" price (although they only had a few hundred on the clock).0
