When Should I Open A Dispute?

I bought a baby bouncer off ebay nearly 2 weeks ago (will be 2 weeks on sunday) paid by postal order on the monday and the seller marked as payment being recieved on the tuesday and left positive feedback. I am still yet to recieve the item, i contacted the seller yesterday to ask if they had sent it and had no reply have checked their feedback and other stuff sold around the same time has been recieved and they have more stuff selling at the moment.
Just wondering how long i should give it before putting in a dispute for item not recieved if i dont get a reply

I would give it a full week after posting (you know what the post can be like). So if it hasn't arrived by Tuesday pull their contact details and give them a ring.

Many people bank postal orders so you need to consider that they are treating it like a cheque. Just because the seller marked the payment received doesn't mean they despatch goods immediately.

I'd wait until tomorrow and try calling the seller then.

A lot of sellers don't bother contacting their buyers, I find it a bit rude personally but some sellers just prefer to run things more simply.

There is also a correlation between payment method and timing of despatch. There is something 'urgent' about paypal so if buyer uses that they are more likely to get their goods very quickly. This is also helped by the fact that we sellers know that a paypal chargeback can be started on day 7 for non receipt of goods. Cheques and postal orders have no such urgency about them and many sellers will delay sending goods until they are good and ready as the buyer has very little leverage to get them quickly.

Yer i just read your post thats shocking! Though it doesnt suprise me there has been a piece in our local paper where a 16year old boy was caught defrauding people on ebay for over £6000:eek:

:mad: just recieved another ebay win of '15 Brand New Newborn Babygros'

not only are they not new they have been worn washed and are out of shape and 2 of them even have tiny holes in! Only 1 of them is newborn the rest are all 0-3mths and 3-6mths :mad:

All of this is seriously putting me off of ebay big time

Quick Update

Still havent receieved the item, Still no reply from the seller, Just tried calling the number on ebay and although the number exists they have never heard of the seller and dont use ebay

any suggestions what i do now?
