PPI story on Newsnight tonight, hopefully someone will start to clamp down on these cowboys selling data to the claim companies so we can stop getting spammed on our mobiles!

Can someone give me some advice?
I've been offered a settlement from Capital one for a credit card I had years ago and wondered whether to accept or not. I've no way of knowing how much I'm due.
They say their total offer of redress is
£70.33 of premiums, £80.44 in associated interest and an additional 8% interest £25.14 all totaling £175.91
I don't have the exact dates but I took the card out 1988 paid the PPI until 2001 when I cancelled it. £175.91 seems a little low?
They say "Please consider this letter to be our final response"
Is there anyway I can check this or should I just accept?
Any thoughts would be gratefully receieved.

Unless you have the statements that show you paid more then you have to accept what they tell you. The requirement is refund of premiums plus interest. So, the calculation is correct. Whether you paid more in premiums is only something you can work out. We cant as we dont have your statements.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
