  • Hi, I am new and need some help.
In Feb 2004, I took a personal loan with The Funding Corporation Ltd, the person I talked to on the phone only told me that the loan has been approved after asking me a few questions about what the loan was for. He said that the Credit Agreement will be couried to me in the next day and I should sign it for the money to be transferred to my account. The biker (courier) came to my house, and stood there while I signed the documents. It was just by reading Martin's PPI's that I decided to find out whether I was mis-sold PPI and guess what yes, I was. I asked them recently for a copy of my agreement and received it yesterday morning. PPI - 2,884.40, Loan -£6,000, Interest-£2,487.60 - Total Amount Payable - £11,352.00. I settled this loan early in 30/6/2004 and paid back £9,252.73

Could someone who knows more than I do, let me know if I have a claim on them based on the informtion I have provided above.

    Hi and welcome

There are many reasons for being mis sold ppi, so if they just added this without your knowledge, or you have other reasons, then give it a go.

All you do is complete the reclaming questionnaire as on stage one:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#reclaim
Then send to who was responsible for setting this up, keep a copy for yourself as well in case you need to refer to it at some point.

They have 8 weeks to give a decision, but may ask for more time, this is okay so long as you know where you are.

I would also check the checklist of reasons to see if any other reasons may apply to you too.

Hope you find this helps, good luck and please keep us informed, cheers.;)

Well done on your success, did they confirm if they upheld in your favour or if an offer of goodwill?
If they have upheld in your favour then they should put you back in the position as if you did not have ppi etc.
They may send the breakdown with the payment, but feel free to post up your figures and I'm sure someone will take a look at them for you.
