you state you can only walk a few metres,if so how did you get to the tribunal?and there is every chance that they watched you from a far on your way around the building and going into it.Food for thought?????
Um, I drove. I walked the couple of steps from the car to the lift. So I didn't walk around any building at all. So, no food there.
Also, I don't know if you know anything about Fibromyalgia and Hypermobility - you can't see it. The pain is inside - while muscles do seize up and cause physical pain on occasion, when this is avoided you can't see it. That's what makes it such a hard illness, as there is no 'proof' as it were."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -

Make a fresh claim, but get a welfare rights worker to help you - it's usually more difficult with disabilities like Fibromyalgia, as the DWP always seem dubious that it exists at all!
Good luck.

Thank you! Sadly there welfare rights worker at my council doesn't help individuals. I've tried so many people, the CAB, different charities, DIAL. My GPs office has someone that can help, but is away for a month.joyciebird wrote: »The Decision Maker will have access to previous claims and more often than not they will look at them, usually to gain more of an insight into a persons illness and how it has affected them previously
I suppose it's not such a big deal, but I worry they will think I'm exaggerating claim, as I'm going to go into much more detail now and spell everything out.purplecatlover wrote: »agreed, i assume they based my renewal award on previous medical reports as they did not contact my doctors this time and i highly doubt they excepted just the info i put on claim form with no supporting evidence/statements form people who know me best etc.
Ah, okay, thank you.

Fibro can be proved and diagnosed, mostly done by rhummys in GB but other countries see it as a neuro condition as in the US.

I've finally got someone coming to help with applying for benefits. One of my carers contacted an advocacy service who knew where to get help and they pushed social services into making a referral to a housing support charity that also provides help with benefits/budgeting etc. Is it worth looking to see if there's anything similar in your area?Eat food. Not sure what you mean sunny? I didn't say anything different. I said you couldn't see it in response to someone."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
Just had my occupational therapy assessment. She is going to do a housing needs review as she saw how horrible the stairs were, and they're unadaptable - a second rail couldn't be fitted, and I've fallen down them twice. Also I have to park quite far away, and it means if I can't get to my car I'm housebound.
She's also providing some stand-alone equipment to keep me going, such as a bath board, a perching stall, a toilet frame, a bed raiser (just makes it higher) and a rail to help get out of bed. She said that will be here in a week, and the bed stuff in two weeks.
Once these are in place I will apply for DLA again."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
That's brilliant news! And really quick too. I really hope they can help you move somewhere more suitable.
I haven't forgotten about emailing you that info, I've just had loads on lately and haven't been online much.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Yeah, it was really quick.
I hope so!
Don't worry, thanks very much!"There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
