ladykhan,
You should be able to arrange hospital transport for medical appts. Whilst this may not be ideal, the drivers will be used to people needing stops so it would not cause a problem.Gone ... or have I?0 -

It is these tax payers who are paying your benefits and rent.
Why do you expect the tax payer to help fund your living arrangements?
Most 19 yr olds can't afford their bus fare right now never mind having their own digs.
look, this about the 4th person who has been nasty to me. i came on here for advice and help not to be spoken to rudly! yes they are paying for my benefits and a margin of my rent and council tax and i would go out to work if i can but i CANT! some people wont understand that and thats fine. i wont bother coming on here for help no more as even though there are some nice people on here who are willing to offer advice, others are just being rude. i need my own "digs" to live. I cant live in my parents house nor shared accomadation! if you and other people dont understand and have nothing to offer me dont reply on the thread. its that simple! thank you to everyone whom has helped me. i will see about a ppc and look at the meter and ring them up. i will empty my carand get it checked out by someone (ive just thought of a place where they train mechanics so they must do a little discount?!). thank you again to the people who helped.

I am on Incapacity Benefit. Have done since mid 2008 ish. I get £105 a week, my rent is £73 and the benefits are willing to pay £55! I have to pay £17 a week. And £35 a month council tax. Now to me that isn't fair seems you have electric, gas, water and TV license to pay for.
I agree with this statement. I too think its unfair that I have to pay my own electric/gas/water and tv license, and wouldnt it be great if everything was free, BUT I own a house and it goes with being a home owner (or renter) im afraid it does cost money to live and we all have bills to pay. I also have an extortionate mortgage to pay for, thanks to my ex putting all his debt onto it. (not flash..just a 3 bed semi) .
The difference between myself and you is that I have no help with my mortgage and have to pay full council tax.
Why do you think you need more money if you receive more than the government say you need to live on? I also think I should get more money but I think my employer would disagree(lol) and so, for myself...its tough. I have to budget and I have to go without or I have to save my pennies (literally) This month I have had to use my pot of change I have saved to go towards christmas presents to pay my council tax and it was a lot more than £35.
You need to lower your expenses. I know you think you cant but you HAVE too or you will sink deeper and deeper. Im positive you can lower your bills. Have a look at the forums on herre, I can guarantee they will save you money.

£13 a fortnight so thats £26 a month. thats isnt going to cover £70.20 rent and £35 council tax.
True - but giving up smoking might lead to an improvement in your medical conditions, which in turn may mean lower prescription costs, fewer car trips to doctor's/hospital, etc.
Smoking may be your only luxury, but many many people who are earning their own money and paying taxes towards your benefits can't afford ANY luxuries. You seem to have an enormous sense of entitlement........[0 -
Also...is there anything you can Ebay to get a bit of cash to pay your arrears? Something that you can do from home. You say you have a family so do they have anything they can let you sell?May £10 a day challenge£19.61/£310Ebay challenge...£12.61/£2000

What's your special diet?
Are there certain things you need to eat/cut out?
Give us an idea - I'm sure there are loads of people out there who could help to slash your food budget by 50% or so."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

Smoking makes the condition more likely to flare up:

Diet
If you have Crohn's disease it's important that you eat a healthy, balanced diet with a high fibre content, unless you are prone to blockages. This is especially true when your symptoms flare up, as you will need to replace lost nutrients, although you may not feel like it. If you can eat a normal diet, you should continue to do so. However, you may find that certain foods disagree with you or that you need to eat more of particular types of food such as starchy carbohydrates (eg potatoes, bread and pasta).
When your Crohn's disease is active, your doctor may recommend that you have a liquid diet, made up of simple forms of protein, carbohydrates and fats. This is called an elemental diet and is commonly used to treat children.

If I have Crohn's disease, should I follow a special diet?
The dietary advice for people with Crohn's disease is the same as for everyone else: follow a healthy, balanced diet. However, if you do find that a certain food makes your symptoms worse, find a substitute for it rather than cutting it out altogether (if possible) - this will ensure that you don't lose whole food groups from your diet. Also, if you have active symptoms, you may find it helpful to follow a low-fibre diet.
