The votes decide on which film shows in each area as far as I can tell. The date you get is the date the winning film will be shown in your area. That's my take on it.
  • I've just cancelled 2 tickets for the screening of 'Up' tomorrow at Southport Vue with skyperks.

    Details below.

As a new poster I can't copy the links for the skyperks site in the quote below but for the links the original post is on page 2 of this thread.

At the prompt, use the movie password 'SKYFLY' to claim your tickets (subject to availability).

As a thank you from Sky we're offering Sky customers up to 2 free tickets to see Up (Cert U), before its general release. Tickets are on a first come first served basis so don’t miss out.

From the Academy Award-nominated team of director Pete Docter (MONSTERS INC.) and co-director Bob Peterson comes UP, a comedic adventure taking off (and lifting spirits) in summer 2009.

Carl Fredricksen spent his entire life dreaming of exploring the globe and experiencing life to its fullest. But at age 78, life seems to have passed him by, until a twist of fate (and a persistent 8-year old Wilderness Explorer named Russell) gives him a new lease on life. UP takes audiences on a thrilling journey where the unlikely pair encounter wild terrain, unexpected villains and jungle creatures.

For more about the film go to:

As a Sky customer you could see the film ahead of the crowds on Sunday 4th October at 10.30am in one of 23 Sky Movies free preview cinema screenings. But hurry - tickets are limited and subject to availability. Up is in cinemas on October 9.

    Certificate: U
    Screening Date: Sunday October 4
Screening Time: 10.30am sharp. Arrive early.
Locations: Aberdeen, Basingstoke Festival Place, Birmingham, Bolton, Bristol Cribbs, Bury, Cambridge, Cheshire Oaks, Cwmbran, Greenwich, Hull Princes Quay, Leeds Light, Leicester, Livingston, Manchester Lowry, North Finchley, Northampton, Plymouth, Sheffield, Shepherd's Bush, Southport, Thurrock (lakeside), Watford

Hello guys I have been to an UP screening in Birmingham Showcase last Sunday - it was in 2D. Did anyone go to a screening where it was in 3D?

All up screenings I believe were 2D! Other than Coraline I haven't been to another free screening of a 3d movie. I think they save these for people who actually pay

...especially when you have to pay another (almost) 3quid on top of the ticket. They're raking it in...even more than normal...AND they don't let you keep the glasses!
  • I wanted to see the Guinea Pig film recently and buy my tickets with my Nectar points. The Vue I went to were only showing it in 3D so could not use my Nectar points and had to pay full price.
