The cinema shouldn't have allowed 4 year old children in to see that film, it's a 12A and whilst it's a freebie, they do need to stick to the BBFC certification. I have seen people turned away before now for having children with them that were too young to see a preview.0 -
Did anyone else turn up at the wrong address for Winter's Bone at the Curzon Chelsea?
The address on the ticket was incorrect and we missed the film, darn
I do hope that you complain to Showff. First the confusing layout of the list of cinemas now the incorrectly addressed cinema, Showff aren't doing too well really.0 -

As soon as I saw the trailer for Winter's Bone, I thought I'd prefer a tough and gritty story compared to The Hole.
However, my OH and I were both less than impressed with what we we're actually presented with. Shame really.
I was up late last night (computing stuff) and only had about an hour and a half sleep tops, so I relate very much with both you and your mum's point of view.
I didn't get as much sleep as I would have liked and almost turned over to go back to sleep when alarm went off but I'm very glad I didn't.
After an enjoyable morning watching The Hole and chatting to friends, I got myself some treats from Teso before going to FACT to (finally) see The Girl Who Played With Fire. Extremely good film, so glad I got to see it after plans to see it twice went wrong.
All in all I had a very enjoyable Sunday, lovely weather, good entertainment and I also bumped into another friend and had a natter before going home. I even went mad and did some domestic stuff when i got home especially as the mound of leaves in my front yard was almost up to my nose. :rotfl:
I apologise to my friends who I owe texts, emails and pms but my exhertions have left me shattered and I'm off to bed soon, in the hope that some of the pain and stiffness will have eased by morning.
Play nicely:D0 -

You mean like this?
Ye see I'm just a Cadbury's bunny with a little bit shorter a fuse - lol (which brings me nicely onto your next question of those hallucinatory or not so hallucinatory squirrels - movie related, of course).Invented tradition: Couponology

Did you see any squirrels?:p Sorry Tibbs, couldn't resist.:D
Okay, conveniently leading on from here (sorry, I couldn't resist either - lol). I'm sure someone else will vouch for me that they were there. Either that or I was more sleep deprived than I thought. No, I don't think I could sit through all those episodes of Lost in one go without sleep, either (another conversation entirely, for anyone following thread).
Anyhoos, back to the little furry squirrels. Although I fully understood the significance of the scene (which I won't go into here). I thought it was so disjointed and separate from the rest of the movie that it was tacked on as an addendum (real tacky style) that it made me wonder if I had suddenly been plucked from my pseudo-dream world into a documentary/nature programme that was made for TV (at that point). Trust me, this is not a spoiler - it gives nothing away (it's a bit like an interlude/intermission clapper board scene that pulls you out of what your watching for the sake of putting something other than a blank screen on TV, if you get my gist).
The entire movie just appeared to be disjointed and didn't flow, imo.
In fact, Aberdeen just felt so sunny by comparison after stepping outside of the cinema screen. That I wouldn't even begin to try to comprehend .Invented tradition: Couponology

My neighbour told me we had a squirrel running along our back wall yesterday, maybe they were all in his mind too.(not even going to attempt to spell the 'h' word. It's taken me an hour to understand Steve's post. That's how braindead I am).
Nite nite, don't let the bedsquirrels bite.:p0 -

Someone at our screening was turned away because they didn't have some form of ID to prove the child's age.Invented tradition: Couponology

Quite right too. :T0 -
Please forgive me if this is a really, really stupid question. I'm just wondering how everyone finds out about these freebies? I signed up with a couple of sites over a year ago, and the only time I've got free tickets was about 2 months ago when the site itself sent me an email.
I do look on the codes thread but never seem to find anything I want to see in my area. Should I be looking on the website? I'm not sure how to look without having first got hold of a code? Sorry, I realise this must sound incredibly daft to all you experts but I haven't a clue and just wonder what specifically I'm not doing that I should be doing?
Thanks!0
