Oh no, please don't feel bad, you didn't talk me out of anything, I didn't make it to the cinema in time that's all.:o I actually saw it today after seeing Danny Dyer in Basement. My day for seeing the classics of the future! NOT!!!!:p
If anyone does go to see Pirahna 3D, make sure you are there for the very start of the film otherwise you'll wonder where one of the actors has gone otherwise! I did really well with this film considering my intense dislike of fish with teeth and lasted until the very last shot of the film before yelping in fright :rotfl: It isn't going to win any Oscars, that's for sure but it isn't the worst horror flick I've ever seen. I did need a hug when I came out after the final scene left me feeling quite traumatised.Tibbs,The_Freebie_Hunter wrote: »No, certainly not pleased. However, I did see The Illusionist advertised as showing at the Picturehouse cinema. I actually thought it was a re-run of the 2006 movie.
Then I read the following synopsis:
Based on a previously unproduced script written in 1956 by French actor/director Jacques Tati as a letter to his estranged daughter, THE ILLUSIONIST is a quaint animated film about the magic and solace that can be found in an unfamiliar place.
Set in 1950s Scotland (and featuring our very own Cameo cinema in Edinburgh!), the film follows an aspiring conjuror who visits a rural village and is enchanted by a beguiling young woman who shows an interest in his powers of illusion.
Echoing the style of French comic book writer-!!!-filmmaker Sylvain Chomet's 2003 film BELLEVILLE RENDEZ-VOUS, THE ILLUSIONIST arrives off the back of an extended festival circuit run that has seen the director lauded as a cartoonist of incomparable cinematic vision.
"Set in 1950s Scotland." Very much interested in that. However, what really interested me is that the conjuror is enchanted, not vice versa. Interesting. Sounds like the young woman is either up to no good or using him for her own means. Hmmm. Probably totally off the mark.
Very perspective.
Will add more about the Illusionist when I get home. Lappie came out for a day out but my lift home will be here soon.0 -

You saw Danny Dyer in your basement?? I know his career ain't doing so well, but that's terrible. Was he after hot soup?

Is the 3D still as appalling as the trailer? It's one of those movies that's been 'converted' from 2D (like Alice in Wonderland), only unlike Alice which was done pretty well, the trailer looked terrible (like a kid drew the 3D depth with crayons, while drooling on them).0 -
Evening All,
Just got back from seeing the preview at the Printworks, Manchester for 'Dinner for Scmucks' - it was soooo funny :rotfl:.(a shame it was less than half full!). I went with DD using free preview tickets and before that we had a meal at Pizza Hut using the 2for1 offer on main meals. I paid the balance with a gift voucher I received for completing surveys.
All in all a night out for 2 in central Manchester (cinema plus meal and drinks) cost just £4.50 for the car park. So a big, big THANK YOU to all the MSE'ers :T:T:T who post all the wonderful offers, codes etc on this site (anyone know of any car parking offers/codes?;) )

For anyone going to the Despicable Me preview at Westfield tomorrow there is a voucher you can download for free parking if you are watching a film at the cinema.
It does say you need a valid cinema ticket so don't know if they will accept the ShowFF ticket, but might be worth a try.

There is also a Kids eat free voucher for various restaurants, 1 free kids meal per paid for adults meal.:hello:0 -

I'm so relieved that you went to see Piranha. You were really starting to sell me on that one. Glad you reasonably enjoyed it. Although you said it isn't the worst horror flick, in terms of horror how would you rate it? Was there just the one 'jump' moment?Invented tradition: Couponology

Went to see dinner for Smucks tonight in Cardiff the showing wasn't that full but i think that was because they only put one code out, i thought it was silly but really funny in parts nice to have a comedy once in a while to lighten the mood up.0
