Just got back from watching Going the Distance. We thoroughly enjoyed it, and judging by the spontaneous loud laughter, so did most of the audience. Funniest film I watched for ages.
  • Absolutely LOVED Going the Distance this morning...took a friend of mine who hasn't been to the cinema in YEARS and had a great time. Only downside was the grand total of 20 people in the cinema...including the 2 security guards! :(

I know 10.30 is early for some on a Sunday but the last 3 screenings I have been to have been to have been quite empty...although that said at least I'm getting to enjoy the film and not have people kicking the back of my chair and chatting I suppose! It just seems a shame that more people aren't attending - do worry that low turn outs will lead to no previews in my local cinema :(

Thanks to all who post codes - looking forward to The Last Exorcism on Tuesday! :)

  • Okay, so managed to collect and watch The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo last night, which I very much enjoyed.

Then watched The Girl who Played with Fire this morning, which was great to watch so soon after the first. Okay, so now up-to-date with the trilogy and looking forward to The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest.

Also saw Salt for free this afternoon. I had tickets to use up. I found this very entertaining and action-packed. Not perfect by any means, but certainly enjoyable for all the time it is on screen (only 100mins).

    Tenth Anniversary
went to see The Girl Who Played with Fire at newcastle but the company hadnt told the cinema they were meant to be showing it. :( luckily the manager let us all see a movie for free, we chose Salt, not a bad movie, glad it was free tho!
  • Forgot to say that I was intrigued by the trailer for the forthcoming movie, The Town.

Whilst I'm not a fan of Ben Affleck (I prefer Casey as an actor), this movie looked decent enough, with acting heavyweights Pete Postlethwaite and Chris Cooper. I also enjoyed Rebecca Hall's performance in the Prestige, and so from the trailer, it looked as though she's managed to deliver another convincing performance.

The screenplay also being written by Aaron Stockard (Gone Baby Gone) and Ben Affleck (who I do like as a writer) and love what he did with Good Will Hunting, if anything like Gone Baby Gone will ensure the movie will be a success.

I was lucky enough to win a Gone Baby Gone DVD in a competition a few years back.

So, on Tuesday I said "Inception... wow!"

Tonight, after seeing "Knight and Day"... wow, what a load of cobblers!

Two films at opposite ends of the spectrum. Should've stayed home.

Yes, Knight and Day was just trashy-flashy - still, enjoyed the freebie.
Looking forward to seeing Inception [via good ol'Tesco clubcard points]:D

You could register your girlfriends email with them and try for a second ticket that way.
