The leicester square showing of the film last night was the worst laid out cinema i have ever been to.

At 5'1, i couldnt see the whole bottom of the screen, and my view was restricted by some particularly tall ladies head in front of me.

This and trying to explain to the rude attendant that i couldnt move up a seat because i couldnt see pretty much ruined the film for me.

Its a shame because last time i went to see a preview at the empire, they had it in the big screen and it was great!

YES!! That was one rude w****r. No need to shout at people like we're all children! And yeah, only screen 1 at the Empire is any good (1300+ seats), the rest are small and if there's a head in the way, forget about reading the subtitles... :(

Yes, I wondered why they showed it on Screen 2. Surely they knew it was going to be full, so why not use Screen 1.

I got there about 6.05-6.10 and it was 75% full then.

We couldn't get four seats together but luckily got two in front and two directly behind... it's not as if we can chat when the film is on anyway.

My girlfriends couldn't see the bottom of the screen either... it was worse when they were told to move up a seat.

The guy behind me sat with three seats empty next to him, one on the end, and two inside. He said he wa 'keeping them for someone'... it was well into the film and still no one had showed up.

Did you see the photographer? I hope my pics not anywhere :). Also, I've never been to a film where staff walk up and down the aisles all through checking that mobiles are off etc.

Well... they had Avatar in screen 1. I wonder how full that was!?

They were checking for mobiles and cameras, and I suspect the "photographer" had the night vision setting on during the film, to see if any bootleggers were around...

v much looking forward to inception tonight! *Notes - must get there early and pick a good seat. Showing in a cinema I have never been before but I reckon will have some of same issues. Hopefully staff more polite :)

The best bit was when Leo dreamt that England won the World Cup. :j

Quick heads-up: the Telegraph screening of City Island which has just been posted clashes with the Gillette screening of The Notebook - both are Tues. 20th July at 6:30pm. HTH. :)
