I thoroughly enjoyed Death of a Funeral, a really silly, funny film which made up for the utter boredom I endured when watching American: The Bill Hicks Story earlier in the day. The audience watching the preview seemed to enjoy it too from the standard of laughing in comparison to the afternoon film where many of the small audience walked out in large numbers!
No more previews on the horizon for Liverpool just now, fingers crossed the drought ends soon.0 -
There's lot more movies coming up on showfilmfirst (insider knowledge
). keep your eyes peeled for codes!!

norwich odeon - half empty
the people that were there enjoyed it from the laughter.
i thought it was ok, one of those films you think 'that was a good film to go watch having not paid for the ticket'

Death at a Funeral had a few laughs but i thought it was generally really poor for the cast it had.0

I didn't like this at all - must have left my sense of humour at work yesterday. Haven't even heard/seen the original, so it isnt that either:( Just didn't get it, and found myself thinking about the pile of dishes and ironing I would rather be doing. Glad I saw it as a freebie, cos would have hated to pay to see it:eek:. On the plus side, I thought Chris Rock held it all together, and was very believable in a more serious role. The girl who played Elaine was gorgeous and Martin Lawrence's character really creeped me out:rotfl:
This is the only film that I have seen this year that I haven't enjoyed, so it's not all bad:j:j:j Musten complain!0 -

I've just found this in my spam folder, so if you applied for one of these tickets and haven't heard back yet, I suggest you check your spam folder too as the email will contain a code for you to 'spend' your free £3.
Personally, I am not a happy bunny. I can understand that something might have gone wrong with the original tickets but why can't they send everyone who applied a free cinema ticket instead!:mad:
It is with regret that I have to inform you that we are unable to source the Sex and the City 2 cinema tickets. Prior to offering the tickets we had, we believed, found a supplier of as many tickets as might be required. The offer of supply has been withdrawn for various legal reasons. Despite our best efforts to find an alternative supplier we have been unable to do so. I know you must be very disappointed and to try and cheer you up we are giving
everybody who requested tickets a free £3 voucher to use towards any other offers at www.wowcher.co.uk0 -
Just noticed this in the showfilmfirst FAQ:
http://www.showfilmfirst.com/info/FAQ.htmlWhy do people post codes on the Internet?
This is really unfair and we (and most of the database) struggle to understand why people do this. You post the code anonymously, and stop other people getting tickets, for the sake of giving them to strangers who wont even thank you?!
If we do trace people doing this we will take them off the database, and we appreciate help from other members in tracking down these people – its pointless, and stops you getting tickets! However, you will usually find that by the time third parties get a code and put it on the internet, all tickets have been allocated to our members!
Strange - if they don't want codes to be posted on the internet, why do they never send out emails??0 -
Hmm, another bug in the new site perhaps?
The email says 28th and 29th May, but you can only book 28th!0 -
Do you guys ever get this for the local more cinemas?
My nearest is Brighton and it's a 70 mile round trip, fine if your making an evening out of it but a bit far for a flick.

I would think that this depends on the area you live. Personally most of my cinemas are no further than 7 miles away but I know friends who travel similar distances to you at times. My nearest cinema is the Showcase but it is very very rare for previews to be shown there. It's pot luck really depending on where you live and the nearest chain to you.0
