Tefal programmable digital steamer, £24.99, Comet

In Comet today and picked up one of these Tefal VC7000115 steamers for only £24.99!

It is the same one as this shown at Argos

Oddly, the cheaper Tefal mechanical one in Comet is £39.99 so I'm not sure if this price on the top of the range one isn't a mistake on their part. There was no price on the shelves but it scanned through at £24.99 so I was very happy.

This was instore although they do have it on their website with the right product code but show a different picture!

Off to steam the dinner ;D

It is a pricing mistake (so they say) and a certain bargain however they are harder to find as people al the dvd forums have been buying them - well worth it

still a stack of 6 or so in my local Comet today though  :)

edit: just checked website and it's still available to purchase on there as well at £24.99
  • I also got the 24.99 tefal steamer as well!

many thanks to you for posting about these

label in shop on shelf states 24.99 and new line so it does not appear to be a pricing error or not that they are awrae of yet as it is that price in all stores

it has I think though been taken off website

I have wanted one of these. I did order one from Empire before xmas at about the same price, but after their incompetance, ended up with nothing.

Read this thread and phoned up Comet. No, they didn't have any in stock. Rushed across town into my local Comet store, and they had one left at £24.

So thanks for this alert! ;-)

Hi all, just wondering what are the benefits of these electric steamers as opposed to stove top ones?

I find the plastic baskets easier to wash than the metal ones of stove steamer (you get veg fur baked on if you know what I mean)

possible takes up less space heightwise if you buy one where baskets go inside each other for storage

can steam quickly if you get higher wattage model

I think it is safer, more controllable as you put in water set timer and bingo it goes, with a stove top one I have accidentally boiled dry nearly a few times and find adjusting the flame on gas stove is critical as if it boild over ring goes out etc.

being electric you can shove it anywhere within reason that has electric point
