Not a lot to add on my DF progress - being shockingly lazy about listing anything on eBay, but may remedy by the end of the week, but have at least started doing surveys when they arrive in my in-box. And wouldn't you know, just as have set my mind to it, they've dried up! Still, progressing towards an Amazon voucher - Mrs R will have that Patti Smith book for Paris! Could cash in my Green Metropolis balance for that anyway, but need the motivation factor!
On subject of Paris, now trying to get my wardrobe together and "refreshed" at little cost. Just bought a couple of what look like stand-out items on eBay, for a bargain price, and the seller combined postage, but says in an email that she felt guilty that the postage was expensive (it really wasn't that much though it was more than the items themselves) and has thrown in a couple of Jigsaw vests too. Am thrilled - there are some great people around in this virtual world of ours, aren't there, so when next sell something, shall try to do the same for someone else....Next on my list, some replacement Converse low-tops as mine have def seen better days.....
My garcon has now left - he was sweet and ate everything put before him, which always pleases, and think he had a fab time. Though thank goodness for the universal boy language of X Box, which helped when we weren't on an outing....Think we spent about £140 in total on the things we did with him, which wasn't MSE at all, and my budget this month is having to absorb 50% of it, but am sure his famile will do similar when DS2 visits next week. In meantime am trying to be v v g and frugal to make up lost ground.......
Not managed many NSDs because of our guest but had two thrilling purchases in a charity shop this week for a total of 60p, one of which was an enamelware spoon to add to my growing collection...it pleased me no end....now Mrs R really knows she's middle aged! To think that pre LBM, can recall spending something like *whispers* £20...on a similar one in a v chichi shop in Cornwall....
We will find out for sure about Mr R's redundancy next Monday, when he hopes he will be given his notice......if so, he will leave at the end of the month, and we will have big decisions to make (in a good way) about money....not sure am grown up enough for all that yet.....
Toodleoo for now

Well, hurrah for Mr R!
He has succeeded in being made redundant and will be leaving his job next week with a redundancy payment, a pension lump sum, which he has converted into a larger lump sum, and an annual pension. Added to which, whilst he is in his early 50s, he looks 10 years younger (all that running and my good food) so it all seems like an incredible scam!
But it's not, it's true. Am kind of pinching myself at our good fortune - but as he says, it favours the brave, and we kind of have been, taking a leap into the unknown by giving up our jobs.....we have a list of things we want to do, and sensible plans for what to do with some of the money, and he at least (as the motivated one) will have to get another job anyway, what with the 3 DSs and dog to provide for.
But I do feel my last 18 months as a DF wannabe has served me well in being sensible in future. And as he has not offered to clear my Egg card for me (!!), I'll still be here....And, do you know, even if he did offer, am kind of enjoying this DF journey (mostly), so I kind of want to keep on doing what I'm and enjoy the feeling of accomplishment this time next year, when am DF....
Anyway, is a little more I could post about my recent DF adventures, but as have been doing some of my freelance work today, have lots to catch up on at home, so maybe later.....
A very happy and lucky

Hey Mrs R, I found your diary :j
It seems a bit strange saying congrats on redundancy, but it sounds like a great deal, so :T.
Have a good weekend.

Continuing this weeks' theme of "pinch me, I can't believe my luck", this morning's post contained a cheque for me from Littlewood's Pools - and I don't even do them myself, my dear dad does something for me (think it might be some kind of lottery actually, not the pools as such)! He had the same win and so we're both happy bunnies today.
OK, it's not a massive sum (£287) but it certainly sorts out my RBS payment for next month, which I was going to scale down because of my impending trip to gay Paree. So I shall pay £350 off my RBS I think, which will leave me money for fun and bring my RBS balance down to £650. Two more chunks and it will be gone!
Am so very grateful for all my good fortune - I really think my life took a turn for the better when I embraced the way of MSE......
Hope anyone reading has a great and restorative weekend - and keep it thifty if you can!
