Crates are brilliant things for dogs aren't they! Our puppy now goes into his for peace and quiet and when he knows he's in trouble. Apparently he needs more mental stimulation to stop him chewing.....

Mrs R
On my "reply to post" box there's a little icon of a mountain that says "Insert image" if you hover the cursor over it.
If that doesn't work you could always use a free picture hosting account e.g. Flickr or Picasaweb and post a link?

In which Mrs R is staying on an even-ish keel....
Hhmm, not a lot to say. It's THAT time of the month - payday looms. Still, past week not been too bad, MSE-wise. WFH so lots of NSDs. Had to put in for collection of my pal who left work after 20 years for a new job. Was thinking ought to put in £20 - he's a v.g friend and having massive financial probs as took job paying £25k less in a recent reshuffle to prevent being made redundant, but now has new job paying not what he was getting, but a lot more than he went down to - but decided as had £11 in purse, would put in £10 and just have the £1 left for the week. And achieved it. Hah!
And as said pal had farewell drinks, had to go out last night. Was massively looking forward to it actually as staying home all week with little Reg and my reports and dusty books had sent me a bit stir crazy - and had fab time, not spending too much - about £17 which included fantastic Japanese. And met up with another BF and had great fun - was on top form, if say so myself. So think that was actually investment in friendship, not money wasted.
So now have to plan how to make own exit from work. As official last day is 31 Dec, imagine most people might have something else on, so will go for 8 Jan instead. Mrs R likes a good time, so might get a designer to make me up some invitations and hand select a few of my best pals to accompany me on a last night of hedonism before sailing off into my sepia-tinged, domestic sunset. Nice.
On MSE front, only 2 bidders on eBay for my current batch but is early days. And none of it anything special anyway, just clutter. And amazed to have sold another book on Amazon. And just about to plough through 8 surveys.
OD has just kept on growing this month - not so much me as joint spending required. And let's face it, that won't improve til Jan - well, if then, given am being made redundant! Still, feeling chipper and confident - OD will be wiped out from redundancy payment, Tesco will be repaid in Jan - decided more sensible given Xmas to split the remaining £294 into 2 chunks - and then will be snowballing onto the RBS card, which will be repaid in June. And then onto the biggie - the Egg.
Pleased as made one of my frequent trips to TK Max this morning - bought not a single item. Plenty covetable, but not enough to add to my OD. Basking in warm glow of immense self discipline - still, browsing gives me ideas. Almost succumbed to red cushion which want to pin lots of button badges on (have those already) a la one in current Pedlars brochure (at prob £50-ish!). But was a tenner and just thought couldn't justify. So resisted. Hah again!
And we're not Xmas shopping til we come back from Center Parcs on 18 Dec - taking it to wire as usual, but kinda like that.
And may have solved Xmas wardrobe dilemma as instead of silver sequin BF jacket, bought a Jigsaw black velvet one on eBay. For £3.50. And that included postage. The joys of WFH and being able to browse when sensible people at work!!
Ok, have good pm y'all - oh and vote for Danyl, Mrs R is.....

Your ebay bargain jacket sounds fab - and just what :money:ordered!!
I'm struggling with what to wear for our office Christmas bash in a couple of weeks - I have a fabby wardrobe of sparkly clothes but have put on weight since I did the marathon due to being lazy and not running, and no amount of spanx pants and hold-it-all-in tights are going to do it this year......yet I cannot afford to go and spend money on something glam, none of the partywear sales are on just yet, and I am such an uneven shape that I dare not buy from ebay as I really need to try it on first.....
So......short of some sort of amazing crash diet, that won't work anyway, or some major food poisoning, I am not sure how I can do it.....
Any ideas, oh social butterfly?Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Ah, Hypno - Yes, ideas aplenty. Here goes:
1. Think what you really want your "look" to be for the bash
2. Personally find once the "look" is settled on, it all comes together somehow. What you must not do is leave til last min, being party girl takes time and effort you know....and there's not a moment to lose....
3. If you must buy, try your local Debenhams' bargain basement/clearance section - always hot on party type clothes
4. Or of course, TK Max......
5. Which part of you is most standard size? As you could always buy one new thing that you had to try on first, and then eBay for something for your least problematic half, so could risk not trying on?
6. Swap/borrow (doesn't work with me as friends are mostly Amazonion and am of midget proportions myself, but you may have people of more considerate body types!)
7 Work with what you've already got that fits, but embellish, embellish, embellish
8 On which note, Primarni currently has these great ropes of pearls at £2.50 a pop that, with two or even three sets, would look oh-so Chanel on something plain and black, esp with short red nails and red lips. That's one of my options for this year, with or without the bargain jacket......
9 False eyelashes - Wilkos have some for 99p. Have used myself. They were fab! If you can't put them on, enlist a helper
10 Get a great blow dry - try to find a mobile or stylist that works from home - mine charges me £7 for a blow dry - and do your nails yourself
11 Full make up and even though am 40-something, and am normally aiming for chic understatement, for Xmas Mrs R will allow a herself a little glitter....personally love a subtle blast of it in my hair
12 If you want to diet, start now, and do Pig or Twig - this is India Knight and someone else's diet - not done myself but two friends had great results pre Xmas last year. Is like Atkins, no carbs for 2 weeks. Also find personally quite like the hungry feeling that comes in pursuit of higher aims, i.e. getting into something nice that you already have and can't afford to waste....but that might just be me. Like to suffer for my art!
13 And if you can't face the diet, alterations to something you've already got can be cost effective
14 Have one other killer suggestion - black footless tights make everything look fresh and really give a look an edge
Any of those working for you?

am about to do mega toning yoga for an hour.....will respond when I am done.....xxSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

So.......am a pear shape - although my cleavage has also benefitted from the weight gain, so like to think of myself as more hourglass  Small waist but heavy bottom half, which is usually a dress size bigger than my top half.
I do have one dress that is "empire line" with lots of net, but it is sleeveless and my dinner-lady arms let me down......may have to disguise flabbiness with fake tan and a wrap.....
I have also borrowed a fab dress, but I wore it to the same do last year...do you think anyone will notice, or am I committing a cardinal sin......I can't disguise the fact it is last year's dress, but it is beautiful and might fit me if I wear two pairs of figure hugging tights.....
I had already decided to reduce carbs......but that was after I bought ben and jerries ice cream on offer £3 for two big tubs of cookie dough ice cream - would have been wrong to resist.....so low carb will have to start tomorrow.
I have been running three times this week, and will re-visit my yoga.....very good for stress relief even if it doesn't have the desired mega slimming effect!
I have lots of lbds, but nothing that will fit, even with a crash diet.....sadly.
So, thanks for the ideas - will let you know how I get on!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
