  • :rotfl:You two made me laugh sorting out your wardrobes. Can you not dress your dress up from last year Hypno? I have discovered buying stuff in the sales even if they are the wrong size and then get them adjusted, Bought a lovely dress last year form Tesco which was only £2.50 and got it adjusted for £3.50 and wore it to two xmas parties :j Very worth it! I take everything to be adjusted now to allow for weight gain/loss....

Your running will work quickly on your figure Hypno, Best things for arms are tricep dips and push ups, you can do those whilst watching X Factor ;)

The dress from last year can't be dressed up or down - it is simply what it is, if that makes sense :o

I think I will have a look in the pre-Christmas sales and tk maxx and see if I can pick up something bargainous. I will work on the flabbiness in the next two weeks though, and save the panicking until the day before.....when at least it is late night shopping so I will have a few hours after work to find something. I will keep my eyes open in the meantime though....

  • I would check out the sales as there is some good stuff out there, there was a 50% sale off at House of Fraser and I was salivating at the dresses but I had no excuse to buy anything :(

No-one will remember what you wore last year, honestly. Unless you showed yourself up *big style* and I can't imagine you would have done that :o

Wear last year's dress. Get some costume bling and go get 'em!

I will go and try it on after x-factor.......I borrowed it for a ball a couple of years ago but haven't yet returned it :o

And no, last year the only thing I showed myself up with was the fact I was the only one not making use of the free bar and free taxi service

I have, however, learned my lesson and will be leaving my car at home this year :D

    Yay Hypno! :T
  • Sold three things on eBay. All helps, though underestimated the postage on one - gah!

So, this month am planning to:
    • Pay just £100 off my Tesco card to free up some extra for Xmas
    • Pay my minimums on RBS (about £40) and Egg (about £99)
    • Finally cash in my change and pay off Tesco or just put into current a/c
    • Resist most social invitations as already have one party and three dinners to attend - this is hard as love to be out and about
    • Have a reeeelly reeeeeeeelly cheap week w/c 14/12 - more of that below
    • Do my Xmas shopping w/c 14/12 - ideal opportunity as can shop and wrap undisturbed (rather than be up til 2am on Xmas eve as usu!), with a nice glass of something, and some tasty morsels, and whilst watching Dreamgirls and Moulin Rouge (again - two of my fave movies)
    • Have a whole 5 days off cooking that week. Yay!! And consequent saving on groceries, of course. Will also mean can, if so choose, lose a few pounds myself just to ensure looking tip top for my soirees
    • Finalise my MSE Xmas outfits (more of that above!)
    • Give up on the Xmas puds gift idea and make pickles/chutneys instead - more MSE, am sure Xmas puds probably cheaper to buy ready made and anyway, not everyone likes
    • Not have usual Xmas induced meltdown
    • Clock up as many NSDs as poss - when not out to dinner etc
Mmm, so, 14 December, got to stay home alone with ma pooch as Center Parcs can't supply dog villa at such late stage.

Was disappointed at first, as not been for 5 years and was so looking forward to seeing how the DSs enjoy it now they're all big boys, but having rationalised, is for best.

And big plus, means the 5 days hols was taking from work can now take in between Xmas and NY, meaning last day in employment will be....23 December!!

At first was keen to smuggle in the hound (he really would fit in my handbag, and how would have loved that....) but Mr R is much more moral than me, so has persuaded me this was daft plan and bound to fail and we would be banned for ever.....And anyway my MIL is going too, so she can do all cooking etc whilst Mrs R junior luxuriates in some time out from the hurly burly of family life......plus might visit for a day if can delegate dog duties to someone else, so will still see their joyful faces as they hurtle down water slides etc....

Yep, so that's it, ciao for now

  • 5 days home alone with only a puppy to keep you company? Sounds bliss!!

I think I need to do a December 'to do' list like you have done. First up - make a cuppa as the kettle has just boiled!!
