Thank you Hypno, Makeup and Honeybear
As for the Women's Hour and the buff 22 year olds, am woman of eclectic tastes!
Anyhow, last load of eBay items only realised a paltry sale of £6, so just paid that to Tesco - £294 to go and counting!
Continuing our rich vein of form on all things financial, Mr R had letters today to say two speeding fines he had 6 and 7 years ago, on the same stretch of road, were illegal, so he's going to be refunded. Incredible!
Also had letter to say we are in queue for bank charge reclaims pending outcome of case - need to do a follow up but glad have overcome inertia to get this far
Was bit naughty today - caught buckle of new trenchcoat in car door this morning - snap! Trotted back to shop who swapped it for another. Thought was going to have to find new buckle, have belt unstitched, restitched and replaced as entirely own fault - bonus!
No NSDs so far this week but minimal spend ones clocked up. Off to London tomorrow but plan to be modest, mostly walking around and looking but a few little spends prob allowed. Grew up in London so always love to go back - love the buzz and the anonimity of it all.

Snowmoredebt - how sweet! Thank you......
All quiet here in debt city, and a NSD too. London yesterday. Did a planned spend in Boots on Oxford St - daft as could done that anywhere, but got a limited edition No 7 lipstick that thought might sell out quickly here in my half-a-horse town, and remembered to use the current £5 voucher.
Was intending to go to Marylebone Hight St, but got hijacked, as usual, by Selfridges. These days, have trained myself just to look - looking at stuff, and touching it, and evaluating it from every angle, and really considering hard whether it could add anything to my life, is my new thing. Even better is concluding, no, that's just not worth it.
Successfully resisted Cath Kidston, Pedlars, Benefit and Miller Harris on this basis. There were some divine cushions, at £95 a pop, that would have been so chic in my sitting room, but quite liked the buzz of putting them back down again.....Mrs R, woman of iron will.
Instead prefer to think of myself these days as woman of genteel poverty, with a couple of special dresses and a slash of a nice lipstick for big occasions, and some well chosen, much loved items for every day.....my 1940s alter ego, perhaps. Whetever, it's working for me.
Best of all was the walk from Westminster, via St James Park, Pall Mall and New Bond St - completely free, but Mrs R just drinking in the thrill of being back in my home city .
Anyway - weekend now. Hair tomorrow (always my big prority, am also v shallow as well as now woman of substance), then a browse in TK Max to try to start my Xmas shopping - and maybe a small quality item for myself. Then p.m rugger, PJs and X Factor. Sunday gardening, football and maybe a cake to bake.
Well so long, farewell, auf weidershen, and adieu for now

Signature updated.
All CC's coming steadily down but o/d growing again.
Still, must remember my strategy is to pay off the CCs and attack the o/d last. Daft, as the CCs are all 0%, whereas the o/d costs me money, but for me it's more controllable that way. The main thing on the o/d is to ensure it never exceeds more than about £1400. And if am made redundant, will clear the o/d but keep snowballing the CCs.
Now, what else can be scraped up for eBaying??
Should investiagte that today.....
Have a good Sunday all

Really really really wanted to go to the shops today! But was strong and cleaned and tidied and gardened and generally distracted myself. And now am smug with a very neat house to boot. A NSD - need to clock up more as this was only my third this month. So that's my target for the working week - 4 NSDs.

I need to up my game on the NSD front as well - and I am working it on "personal spends" rather than "family spends" to see if I can motivate myself to spend less......
So I will join you in your challenge for 4 NSDs this week........:DSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Good Morning Mrs R
Have at long last caught up on your diary - what a lovely way to start the workweek - your positivity is infectious!
You have made realistic progress with your debt - a very balanced attitude to it all!mrs_robinson wrote: »Grew up in London so always love to go back - love the buzz and the anonimity of it all.
Oh to be in a city again! - you have set my heart longing for the energy of it! - but my pocket book keeps reminding me that cities & their temptations render it quite sickly...mrs_robinson wrote: »Did a planned spend in Boots on Oxford St - daft as could done that anywhere, but got a limited edition No 7 lipstick that thought might sell out quickly here in my half-a-horse town, and remembered to use the current £5 voucher.
From one displaced city-girl to another - just remember that the benefit of a hick town/village is the £££'s that stay in your pocket! - Very MSE for the bank account!:D
Looking forward to your next instalment. :T
