looking to change my gas and electric supply, i just did comparisons using, energy help line, uswich and money supermarket. ovo came out the cheapest on all three. Though only by £3 from n power. any advice on which is the best, cancelation fees are the same with both.
so any cash back could be the decider.
does OVO offer any cashback with comparison sites?0 -

If you can switch with the comparison site, then you'll get the cashback from that site.
I was looking only the other day and you could certainly switch to Ovo with energyhelpline, as you could to many npower tariffs."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Considering OVO. For me the electricity price seems especially competitive.
One tip for those considering switching:
There is a standing charge though for £63 per year for each of gas and electric, thus if you're a an especially low user of either then it's not going to be as much of a bargain. Similarly if you use an awful lot of electricity then it's going to be a good deal.0 -

I am a high user as I run internet servers at home. Unfortunately I tied in to my current supplier on a fixed deal until December 2010 thinking that prices were going to keep rising and no one cheaper was likely to come along. Looks like Ovo could save me about 10% on unit price, or 5%+ over all if I take into account the standing charges.0 -

Is it worth 'biting the bullet' and paying the exit penalty?0 -

I considered that. There would be a small saving still, but then no guarantee that OVO won't up their prices once they have got a decent sized customer base, so probably not worth the risk. I am currently with EON. I hate to sound complacent, but probably better the devil you know - at least you can get customer service out of EON should you need it...and I know I won't be paying more than I currently am until 2011.0 -

If you sign up to OVO the prices are fixed for 12 months, bearing in mind it can take around 6 weeks to change over that will take you round til near the end of december.
So if you would still save even after paying the exit fee then it would seem OVO would be the better option as it will be fixed for the same length of time (give or take a few days)Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
Ovo have just come up cheapest for me on energyhelpline. I currently pay £50 gas and £35 elec per month on EDF. I have just received a letter saying my cap has ended (31st Oct) and I am being transferred onto Price Guarantee 2010. Not sure if my monthly DDs will change, or what they will be from Ovo...how can I find out before I commit to either?
Thanks.:heart2: THANK YOU MARTIN!! :heart2:0 -

Thanks.
You can usually renegotiate monthly payments if a supplier has got these wrong ... and you can give a reasonable and logical reason why you think they are wrong.
Whether you are under or overcharged on a monthly basis, you only end up paying for what you've consumed ... eventually"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Very true...thank you
I have done it. Gone with Ovo. Ooh exciting! Lol. It did say I'd save £146 a year, definitely worth a go.
Thanks x:heart2: THANK YOU MARTIN!! :heart2:0
