I have nothing to do with the 3 on my bio dad's side as i have nothing to do with him either.
Rarely see my 3 step-cousins except if i go up to visit my step-grandma. But theres a massive age gap with them so i've never been especially close (and my aunt and uncle resent me for the fact my step-grandma treats me as one of her own!)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I have 6 all on my mum's side as my dad's an only one. Our age range is from 24-43 and yes we're all in regular contact, despite being spread far and wide about the UK.
It's definitely been more as we've got older so the age gap has shrunk (I'm 2nd eldest) and even more so now that a few of us have children.
I love that we get together and keep in touch because we want to, rather than the obligatory weddings/funerals etc0 -
I see the ones who live locally, all the time. The others, not so much. As someone said, usually at weddings or funerals.
My 2 eldest sons are in their twenties and are pretty close with their cousins, so I hope it continues as they get older.0 -
I have approximately 36 cousins. I have never met most of them and the few I have met I have no desire to see again! We just did not have a thing in common. As I won't have anything to do with several of my aunts and uncles I am not about to get in touch with their kids!0

Cousins on my mums side I never see & probably wouldn't recognise if I did, cousins on my dad's side I'm struggling to even recall how many there were and what they were called!
We're not exactly a close family0 -
I have 5 direct cousins - see 3 a couple of times a year. Have 12 second cousins - keep in touch with 4 on FB but don;t see except at funerals, major celebrations etc.
DH has about 10 - 4 around his age who we see as they live locally (although only if we bump into them at the shops or there is a fmaily occasion!). The other 6 are 20-30 years older than him and I don;t think he would know them if he saw them0 -
As far as I know I have 3 female cousins, daughters of my dad's only sibling. I've never met any of the family, never even knew my dad had a brother, until the day a telegram arrived saying that he had passed away. All this was over 40 years ago so I'm not likely to find them now. Dad passed away 25 years ago so I can't ask him anything about it either.
Having looked into my family history I discovered that dad's family were jewish but my mother was not, so it may well be that his marriage to mum was disapproved of within the family and that was why there was no contact between them. Dad never spoke about his family but I've discovered that his parents came from large families and he himself had over 20 cousins that I traced so far.
Mum also had 1 sibling, a sister, who married but had no children, so unless I find my paternal cousins, I'm cousinless!!nyarlathotep0 -
I dont have anything to do with my cousins and neither does my husband! We have a family gathering soon so many will be there, but TBH I cant be arsed with any of them.
I wouldnt have any as friends, so why should we be nice just because they are blood related?

I have 5 cousins and haven't seen any of them for several years. The 3 younger ones all have children and I buy Christmas presents for them all (despite only having ever met one of the kids!) and include a short letter with the cards, but that's about it really.0
