    :hello: Hi all

Just wanted to update on the mortgage rescue progress. Keeping a record on here has been so helpful and therapeutic too :o especially receiving encouragement and support, thank you :A

I sent the formal notification letter to proceed back to the HA last week. I then received a couple of calls from the HA booking in an electrical contractor to come and test all the electrics/wiring in the house for safety. And an EPC assessment (energy performance certificate). Both have now been done.

Today I received a huge letter from my solicitor containing documentation from the HA that we need to go through with the solicitor and sign (hope to book an appt with her next week to do this). It included the Contract, Transfer Deed and Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement. So some heavy reading to be done later but a quick glance it all looks ok.

Under normal circumstances, I would be feeling optimistic to be at this stage. However as most know, I am awaiting the banks decision on the shortfall, as yet I have heard nothing from them but this issue is playing heavily on my mind, sleepless nights again and embarrassingly enough :o:o night terrors every night!! I have had them on and off over the years but I am now waking up screaming every night in terror having 'seen' 'people' inches from my face in what can only be described as 'about to attack/smother me' Ridiculous I know, and I feel such a wally but it happens and scares the living daylights out of me and hubby :o:(

Anyway back on track, the mortgage rescue is coming together, the HA aim to complete within 28 days, obviously thats going to depend on the bank agreeing to write off the shortfall.

I have been encouraged to see other people on this forum starting threads about the process and asking questions. That has to be a good sign that more vulnerable people are being referred for it, so hopefully thet won't lose their homes. :)

    Will keep updating

Just seen a link to this on another thread you have replied to. I am glad to hear the latest update. You have been through so much it's no wonder you have having such night terrors. Hopefully now you are on the final stage things will get sorted and the night terrors will go away.
Fingers crossed for the next few weeks. I can't wait to here you finally announce that everything has gone through for you.

Thanks to all above for the kind words :A

Unfortunately I am rather down beat today with this mortgage rescue. I am becoming increasingly fearful that it just won't go our way. I have had no contact from the bank until this morning when I opened a letter from collections and recoveries detailing mortgage arrears, saying if we cant pay to ring and discuss the situiation or approach a debt advice counselling agency.

For gods sake , they know we are going through mortgage rescue, they know we are bankrupts. I am guessing it is a standard letter, but all it takes is for a person to have a look at our file and see that we have been going through mortgage rescue for months now. Anyway, I thought all arrears, interest and charges were supposed to be frozen pending outcome of MRS? I dont feel there is anyone to turn to, I feel on my own. My local council officer is very under resourced with little experience of mortgage rescue, I have had v little help from him overall.

I am sick to the back teeth of it now. I am so worried its not going to happen, all I can think is the bank will not budge on the shortfall liability when the issue arises. What then? This will all have been for nothing and we will be evicted. I am at the end of my tether waiting to hear. Our solicitor appt is later this week, maybe she will be able to help? Cos there certainly aint no manual on all this. :(

I am sorry to post negatively as the last thing I would wish is to put people off the scheme. But for me, its all becoming too much, I want to know if we can stay in this house or we have to face repo and eviction. Life is on hold and we are in limbo still, thats probably also to do with still being under BR.

If we dont get this I need to know what will happen to us, how long before eviction, how long will we be placed in temporary accommodation, will we be separated, where will i store all our furniture, will the council find us a house, what do I do about our beloved dog, how will the children be affected losing the home they have grown up in for the last ten years????????? So many questions swirling round in my head.

I will be such a failure if the rescue fails, it will be my fault for thinking we could do it, my fault for putting all the extra stress on us over the last year. BR alone, is enough to shred anyones confidence and maybe I should have just left the house all those months ago for repo and we might be settled somewhere else now. I worry too much, I know that. I have tried to be strong, I have tried to establish contacts and rapport between myself and all the officials involved in MR so they could see what sort of a person I am, how much I wanted this to work, how right it could be for my family. I wanted to come across as helpful, friendly, willing to work with them and be efficient, to show how serious I was about this scheme. And for what, if it fails?

I never thought we would find our selves in this position. When I married my husband 18 years ago, we had such high hopes and dreams for the future, keen to get on the property ladder and build security for us and our kids. Now look at us, bankrupt and losing the home we worked so hard to pay for. I can remember the exact moment in Dec 08 that my husband got a call while on the road at work, telling him he was being made redundant, finish at xmas and dont come back after that. Our life, like a row of dominoes, one push and it all started tumbling down. That event was the trigger that has brought us to this point today.

Sorry to hear that things are so tough for you Angie - I hope you can maybe switch off from it for a day or so. Like you said the letter from the bank is clearly an autogenerated thing. I hope the meeting with the solicitor gets you back on the right road again.
I wish I had some advice for you but you're getting there - at least you know you are doing everything in your power. If you hadn't tried you would always be thinking what if...?
Stay strong and I hope things get resolved for you soon.

    Thanks df

I dont mean to sound so sorry for myself :o !! Just veering from one emotion to the other with it all. And fed up of saying 'no, we wont do that to the house in case we dont stay here' !!!!!

And you are so right, I had to go for this or I never would have forgiven myself for not trying.

    Bless you.

    xx

No, absolutely not true. The failures are in how the scheme hangs together. But there are successes too, and you might still be one.

Was going to write a bit of a rant about MR myself but I'll save it for another time ;)
