Big Brother!
Is it not 7 working days that you have to return an item (I am not clear in my head) - if it is working days, then you are not 7 days through yet (with the bank holiday having just passed.
I would rush to the shop now and return it.0 -
Did you recieve the invoice on the 29th or was it dated the 29th inside? If you recieved it, as she is 'financially dependant' upon you, you may be able to explain that to somebody in the call centre, and plead them to cancel it. They're not obliged to but they may if you explain that you had no idea, recieved the invoice a few days after she took it out, without consulting you, someone sympathetic to your situ may just do it for you - persevere though - it might take a few phone calls.
A brand new and unlocked BB Bold on ebay fetches about £250-300, so may be worthwhile spending an extra £10, unlocking the phone (as Tmoby don't sell unlocked as I previously thought they did), then selling it. That would cut the £720 to about £500 at worst, meaning its reduced to £27 a month, and getting your sister to use an existing handset/a real cheap payg. Hopefully she'll learn something from this - perhaps get her to deal with the mess so she understands exactly what she has done here...
Good luck0 -
if you dont let her make mistakes she wont learn from them.0

Contract was taken out on the 29th, the first invoice is dated 2nd September.
I'll try contacting the call centre tonight see how I get on... though won't hold my breath.
Don't forget she’s thrown away the box, so on eBay you probably won't fetch the high end price.

At 19 I would rather have cut my own arm off than be financially dependent or answerable to my brother. Still would in fact.
Stop bankrolling her and let her do her own thing!0 -

True I guess, may be able to get a hold of the box on ebay perhaps?
Call them but I'd say don't get off until they give in - they will do it eventually I rekon if you explain the financial dependance, somebody will understand/get sick of listening to you moan on and on about it and just give in to get you off the phone lol. Talk to the managers, talk to whoever you can highest up if they won't get it sorted for you, but ultimately don't give up! If they still don't listen, a few heated words further down the line may work in your favour. I still rekon it may take a good few calls through. Maybe even a 'well I phoned up yesterday and was told by someone that they would be willing to cancel it and now I'm being told otherwise! I'm frankly outraged that there are such discrepancies in the company, and demand to have the contract cancelled, or at least heavily reduced to a much lower tariff.' Maybe even play the got made redundant recently card - they can't check/won't bother to at the very least, and theres no harm in trying - they're not the police after all! *disclaimer - I've never done that in my life
, if anyone disagrees with my method (which I've never used before
), then good luck to you, but I'm just saying whats the worst they could do if you tried it huh?*

If she can afford the £41a month then I agree, but seeing as shes recieving money from her brother, I'm guessing she cannot do that off her own back atm, so I think OP here has every right to be a bit annoyed.0 -
Stop giving her money. Let her find out what the real world is like on her own.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j
Do something amazing. GIVE BLOOD.0 -
If she's old enough to sign a contract, surely she should deal with the consequences.
If she's not mentally capable enough to sign one, then someone should have power of attorney over her.0
