Tmobile - Sister bought a few days ago, need to cancel shes used it.
My stupid sister has gone out and bought a phone without consulting any of us. It is on an 18 month contract, it is far too expensive.
Any advice appreciated on cancelling it please. It has been connected / used. It has been a few days since purchase.
Thanks.

As long as you're within the 7 days you can cancel it - the rules may be different for over the counter purchases made in a store, but for distance products, there is definitely a 7 day 'grace' period within which you can cancel it.
Just phone up the network/seller, tell them it doesnt suit your needs, they'll bill you for any usage over the time you've had the phone and then arrange collection/delivery (though you may need to pay to return the item. You'll recieve your bill in most cases within 30 days after you arrange the cancellation.
Just ensure you phone them BEFORE the period is up, and if it takes longer to get it back to them its fine, but as long as they're notified within the 7/14 days (whichever it may be) you should have no problems.
Hope that helped

Anything bought in store has no cooling off period, some networks do give a 7 day return in store but not all. You might get a store manager who'll do it for you, but their not obliged to.
If it's a Three phone, I'm afraid you don't have much of a chance they do not take anything back once it's been used, sorry.0 -
Thanks guys, with some further questioning it was purchased on the 5th Sept. The box was also thrown away so we didn't know!!
The only way I knew was when I picked up the mail and saw T-mobile on the envelope, that rang alarm bells and questioned her. Its £41 a month for a stupid BB Bold.
The purchasing store said no you can't return, rang up another to be sure they said 7 days - which has now gone. So with the box gone and the 7 days up were stuffed!0 -

Did you mean 5th August? 5th September was only 2 days ago.0 -

I had a similar situation with an orange phone. Sent it back within the 7 days and i had used it. Got a bill for £10.76 after this, I kept trying to find out from orange why I had been charged this. Next thing I knew i had a letter from a debt collection agency so I phoned them and paid it off sharpish! Wouldn't have minded paying it straight away if there had been any obvious terms stating the fee.£2 Savers Club 2011 (putting towards a deposit

Sorry but why does your sister need to consult with you first?
How old is she?0 -

She is easily influenced by her friends and 9/10 times doesn’t make a sound judgment. We also tend to ask everyone in our family on opinions before purchasing to ensure it’s the right item.
This is a big purchase item around £750 in 18 months & based on previous contracts I have purchased for her she will most likely go over the standard minutes resulting in an even higher cost.
Most of her money also comes from me! Therefore I believe I have a right.

Does she work? If so and she goes over, its her problem. You are her brother, not her minder, its up to her what she spends her money on. xx0/2013

Fair enough, just wondered if she was under 18 or had been pressured/missold the contract.0
