  • Wow!! There's lots happened since last night!

raeh, I certainly understand how you feel. There have been times where I have posted something and it has been ignored. I do know though that it was never on purpose and things do get lost in the stream of conversation as you said. I'm really glad you said something as I was wondering why you weren't posting and I'm so glad it wasn't because you were too ill.

As pcl said, I did suggest opening another site for us to generally chat and I did open one but a lot of you thought it would be too much to keep up with another thread along with this one so it has remained unused. I thought it would be good as it was a private site so people could feel more secure in discussing things without fearing a friend/relative would stumble upon the post and cause problems for them.

Anyhoo, I'm not quite sure what we can and can't discuss here now but on the subject of shoes........

My friend has MBT's and swears by them for her back. I was put off by the price and live in my Birkenstock sandals for comfort. Not sure how I'm going to handle winter though. Maybe I should buy some of those socks that are like gloves so I can still wear them! :D

I agree with Soolin about re-naming the thread. I titled the site I set up with the name Chronic Conditions as there are so many of us with different and similar illnesses and some people may think they can't post if the condition they suffer from isn't Fibro.

Right, that's my two penneth worth. And I shall close by saying that I hope no-one disappears/stops posting. I feel like you're all my friends now and would hate to lose any of you!

awww soolin it's a bit of a mouthful

But i can't think of a suitable name right now, i'm sure it wouldn't sound right

Have a think on it and i'll log in tomorrow and see what people want it changed to. We could stick with the original name of course unless people felt it would exclude those without fibro.

How about the title 'living with a chronic condition' ?

Discussing shoes that assist in the daily ability to get around or to lessen discomfort is exactly what this thread is about. I really don't see any point in singling out posts from the last thread that were very OT, I think we are allable to understand what this board is about .

I'm still happy though to help set up a basic chat thread for the Arms.

  • Yeah, I think that sounds good Soolin. Lets see what the others think.

I think having a thread in the arms is the only sensible solution really for those of us who have become friends and want to chat. Also for those who want to join us too. Perhaps maybe providing this info in the start of this thread would be a good idea to help others find it? Have you already suggested that? Sorry if you have, there were lots of posts to catch up on!

We could still have another off site thread too if everyone else wanted a bit more privacy alongside posting in the arms so we didn't become too exclusive. Does that make sense? I'm tired!

  • Yeah I got your pm thanks pap!
  • Now looking at MBTs with avaricious eyes.

How can I justify this purchase - I already have ten pairs of shoes/trainers?

Everyone will be wishing they had let me buy the 3 handbags I wanted to get on Friday. Serves them right for dragging me out of the shop. Especially as I had gazed longingly at 3 pairs of beautiful platforms that I could never wear and all they said was they would look good on one foot as the plaster cast is being applied on the other...
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

  • Haha! Jojo! I know how you feel. I have knee length boots and platforms that I've bought knowing full well I won't be able to wear them for more than ten minutes or unless I'm plonked on a chair and waited on all evening!!

You can justify it by the fact that it will ease some discomfort for you and make life a little easier for you.
  • jojo Go for it! (Hi by the way). I find it hard to justify spending money on friparies but when it's something that may reduce my pain and has the added back up of being recommended by someone else in a similar position who has tried them, I wouldn't hesitate.

You can then keep all your other trainers for best!
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D
