Ah sorry, I assumed you'd at least be making more than as a student, but I guess all the bursarys and stuff stop.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

If only... A few more years of living like this but TBH I am not complaining, I am entering a career that I find incredibly challenging and rewarding.. that is when I am not bing abused/punched/spat at LOL!!

Happytogetdebtfree - I can't tell you where I am based as it will identify me too much when I reveal the next bit of info. But if you could let me know the name of the shop, I would be grateful.:rotfl:As for the "typical doctor", I know exactly what you mean but it's unlikely that I will become one of those as I am a nurse as well. I like to think medicine is changing, certainly the course I am enrolled on at the moment place a huge emphasis on working equally within the realms of the MDT and actually have us working with other students from other disciplines throughout the 5 years.

Sounds like the NHS needs more doctors than you - I have ME, Bipolar and Hypogammaglobunliaemia/Query CVID so I come across quite a few, and a lot of them are either useless or total w*****s!

  • Ames,

I am really sorry to hear that especially about the bad experiences that you have had.

I won't disagree with you as a close relative of mine was in hospital recently and the standard of care was apalling. It wasn't like this when I first started out as a nurse, it's a shame it has got this bad. Bring back matron, not that I was around when they were but I hear stories about how it has all deteriorated since then.

Do you think it is the easy money-making machine that it is made out to be?

To make serious money at match betting you must invest serious money

there are many people on MSE do earn money doing it partly by taking advantage of bookmakers offering free bets from £10 to £100 if you bet the same amount.

But there are pitfalls if you don't fully understand the system.

Maybe you should get debt free first.

Absolutely.. I completely agree with you but it's getting to understand the system which is beginning to frustrate me. I have read through it several times and still don't get it... I could scream with the frustration of it all. I have been over to the MB thread and they make it sound so easy. I wonder if I am missing something simple or just over-complicating it in my head..:rotfl:

  • Just after some advice... again..

I have just applied for a credit card to take advantage of a 0% BT rate but I was refused. This is the 3rd/4th time in as many months that I have been refused by different companies. Is there a reason for this?

I know with the recession/credit crunch going on the cc companies/banks have been tightening their belts but I am still confused - I have always made payments on time and never missed one. In addition, I have had several cards at different times with the same cc company so thought I would have built up a good working history with them - if you see what I mean.

I know this isn't strictly debt-free, more debt-transfer but I would be grateful for any advice/info..:D

I can't help about why you're being turned down, but don't apply again for a few months. More than three credit checks in six months affects your rating.

  • OOoopppss!! Think I might have done that..

Out of interest, Ames, do you know why it affects your rating? It's something I always think I should read about but never get round to...
