Tesco blueberries

I just found hair in my blueberries. Not just one but a huge clump _pale_ There is no way that it just fell off this person by accident. I feel sick. Is there anything i can do about it??

Thanks in advance for replies x

  • The obvious answer without being rude........take them back and get your money back.

So you purchased some blueberries, found a hair, and now you need some advice?

Don't eat it. Take it back. Get a refund.

Seriously, I wonder how some people get by in life.
  • Well thats rude!! I'm not that stupid, i meant to stop it from happening again OBVIOUSLY!!!

Stop Tesco employees or fruit packing employees or Tesco customers from dropping hairs into the fruit? Not sure you can personally do anything about that.

Stop buying fruit with hair in? Check it before you pay.
  • I don't see the problem. I thought hair was part of your 5-a-day?

    !!!!!! - Talk about OTT!

It's a hair, not a piece of glass, a deadly disease or a killer spider!

Either take them back for a refund or simply wash the blueberries and eat them. I'm sure the insects that have been in touch with the blueberries would have been more likely to kill you than a hair!
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

 do you think someone pulled out a big clump of their own hair and put it in a box of blueberries?

No neither do I, just wash em or bin em.
I don't think the shop where you bought them from is going to launch an enquiery.
Jeez, some people just make a drama out of nothing!!!

It may not be hair - its possibly fibres from a sack or basket that the fruit may have packed in. Although its unpleasant its really not a huge problem and its unlikely that the retailer/supplier will bother with an enquiry. Its a bit different to finding bits of metal/screws etc (or, as I did once - a chunk of blue plastic piping inside a jar of mincemeat!). In those cases the supplier might well be concerned if it looked as though bits were falling off their equipment!

In your case, I would probably not even have bothered going back to the store - just removed the fibre/hair and given the berries a good wash.

What I think is far more unpleasant is this ongoing habit of so many people being so rude in their responses whenever somebody asks questions like this this one. Even if you think the OP is making a mountain out of a molehill, politeness (or keeping your mouth shut if you can't manage that!) costs nothing.

I was asking a simple question, anybody would think that i was breaking the law the way your all acting.

Its not happened to me before, therefore i believe i'm asking a very reasonable question.
