I spend about £150 - £200 on my son but he does get clothes and we do the Xmas eve box too so some of that is included there. I do pick up a lot in the sales too though and freebie/cheap bits for stockings etc too.
I do get him new PJs and some clothes out of that money too.Time to find me again0 -
This year I am spending about £200-£250 on DD which includes a pink nintendo DS at £105 and some playsets and books, a baking set and some clothes I got in the sales. I was adding up the real prices of each thing I've got her so far (got loads in sales) and it would be about £350-£400 if I'd paid full price which always makes me think I'm perhaps giving too much? But it's only once a year I suppose..
DS will probably get the same but with less gifts as his are more expensive.:rudolf: Christmas Addict! :rudolf:0 -
Hi,
i normally spend about £150-£200 on my ds but this year he has asked for a laptop, so the deal is if he can save up £100 by christmas he can have one ! so far he has about £68 as he has gone through his room and sold a lot of games ect on ebay .....
so this year he is having a bit more spent on him , clothes, dvds, xbox 360 games and a few bits and bobs.
i spread the cost for xmas by putting money on my post office christmas club card which activates on nov 1st and i can use it in lots of places .... and i also have the park vouchers.0 -
Around £150 here, if I had paid full price for items then maybe £200-250! Luckily I got a lot in various sales. My mum also spends £100 on him - but this year its just going into his savings along with money from other family member (he has too much already!)
But to be honest- it wouldn't matter if I just spent £10, I know I'd make it a magical time no matter how much I spent.0 -
Ususally between £100 -£150 each and that includes the stocking presents as well, which usually cost about £10 -£15.
I worked with a woman once who spent £500 on each of her two boys!!!!0 -
About £60 on a main present (or cash towards if it they're saving for something expensive) and then a stocking which probably comes to another £10 or £15. They only get 2 or 3 other presents in total from other family members which are token gifts of £5-£10.
Seems stingy compared to some but they genuinely seem happy with it and always have done (age 15,18 and 20 now!). We always go and see a show, go out for a meal, play board games and watch films together and it's those things which are more a feature of our christmases than presents anyway.0 -

My mum spends £300 each on my three teenage sisters  realistically its more like £450-500 though once she's added in Christmas day outfit, new pj's, stocking fillers etc!0 -
I have 4 ages between 22 and 9. It depends on what they need and how much money I have. So far no one needs anything so I think it will be around £100 each.0

Mine will be aged 2, 4 and 8.
I will be spending between £20 and £50 on each of them. But I'm quite smart with money and plan ahead well and get good deals on what I'm looking for.
Any more than that would be ridiculous. Just buying stuff for the sake of buying stuff - which I hate. And it's not what Christmas is about in my household."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
I get gifts to the value of approx 100 pounds (so may spend less, if I can get good deals on things on his list). However, he rarely gets anything spent on him by us through the year apart from clothes, school trips etc and doesn't get pocket money.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0
