Wedding venue problems - want to cancel.

He didnt turn up!! The judge discussed it with OH and me (allowed me to go in too as he felt that under the circumstances, I was entitled to be present). Basically said that the defendant had given no evidence in support of his application and could not be bothered to attend to support it and therefore, his case was being declined. Woohoo!! Cannot celebrate or name and shame until we get the money back but at least the court has seen him for what he is (and the judge had a few choice words!!!!!) :D:D:D:D:D
Bailiffs papers are now reactivated and we have to wait to hear!!!

Way to go beks! I can't understand what this guy is thinking. Fingers crossed the bailiff process goes through quickly. Keep us updated.

I'm one of the ones who hasn't worked the venue out yet - am intrigued to know once you've recovered your money.

I think you're amazing - I think I would have given it up as a bad loss well before now.

Beks, I have been regularly reading your updates and had even managed to work out where it was.

Just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS and not just for today but for not giving up and making sure, hopefully, that this 'lovely' man gets just what he deserves!

That's brilliant news!!! :j:j:j I knew you'd win this!!! I know its not over yet but hey, you're almost there and I'm so pleased for you both!!!!! I wish I could have been in court to hear the judge's 'choice words'!! I bet you both feel as if a huge weight has been lifted off your shoulders. Now you can begin to look forward to re-arranging your wedding. Well done, you've worked so hard for this success. A small celebration should be had tonight! :beer:

Good news Bek's , it also look's like if they need it the Baliffs will have some back up , you don't mess with MSE'rs:mad:
Any clues as to timescales for getting the cash back now.
