Yep £20 quid is well spent on wedding insurance for the "just in case" senarios.

I can't beleive how polite you are being, goodness me lass, you have the manners of a saint!
I run an event management company, I put on events, I go to events, if I don't know anything about events - its not worth knowing!

Ha ha!! I don't have manners of a saint but even though I am stressed up to the eye balls with this, I feel I have to follow my own expectations and that means replying to people in a decent time (ie 24 hours not 4 weeks!!!).
Have not sent fourth and final letter (recorded delivery of course) - a well toned down letter from the one I posted on here, (similar to yours tizhimi and frannyann thank you) with a few additions for my own piece of mind but keeping the emotion out!!! Have also added in an additional quote off his website - so thank you Leylauk for that one. Also, still in correspondence with "Dom" but not sure that they can help as think it may have gone too far (court papers being filed once I finish the draft)!! Managing to keep positive again now!!!

Its always good to have the back up of "Dom's" team, I'm sure they could maybe run a story even after the court papers have been filed, I mean, I know your all going to cringe when I say this BUT what about ITV3 when they do "weddings from hell" programme (or whatever its called), might be worth getting in touch with them too....? I am ashamed to admit that I do watch holiday homes/weddings/homes from hell programmes as its trash tv but very entertaining and its always good when the consumer wins!

(Thank goodness its not just me, I always wonder who else is watching this trash tv besides from me:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)

I also think they pay you for your story too.

Another option is glossy magazines, they most certainly do pay you for your stories and once you've come out the end of this you can spread his name everywhere without fear of not getting your money back.

Grrrrrr! Just found out the venue had an open day today. finished at 4pm so too late to do anything, feel like my hands are tied right now. I would've stood outside with a big banner if I had known, or I would have sent a few friends along in their audi and mercs to waste his time for a few hours. Gutted! Shame it hasn't rained all day here!

... heard nothing from the venue since we sent the previous letter (not at all surprised).
Have completed the online form but not been able to file it as unable to fill in the finer details (dont know legal jargon and not sure if sueing the venue name or owner- which you have to get right apparently). Am just totally fed up of this now - have kept off this forum cos watching how well people are getting on planning their weddings is depressing me!!! :p
We really need a solicitor to help us now but they are charging £213 per hour for the priviledge. Spent my day ringing round solicitors. There are arent any "no win, no fee" lawyers in the area who specialise in civil litigation. No one will give us 1/2 hour free either. If we go to small claims court then we cannot claim for cost of solicitor which seems ludicrous.
It just seems to be a lose lose situation and not an hour goes by without us stressing over it. :o

Awww beks I'm sorry you are no further on with this. Is there not a solicitor who would not give you a little advice over the phone, or the CAB maybe?? xx

Hi Beks, I was just looking for this thread for an update. I'm sorry you haven't got very far. I'm sure your local CAB will help you out or Trading Standards. Keep going you can't give up now!

    Steph xx
