Don't worry, it is confusing just now but it will settle very soon.

The site you posted is the American run one. To find your local Yahoo group today, follow the links in the emailed messages, do you get the digest?

The new network is called FREEGLE (Free, Giving, Locally, Easily)

If you cannot find your groups please post into this thread letting us know which group you are looking for and someone will help find the link for you.
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

    thank you :A

i have found the freegle ones - just there was an item posted on the other one with a picture and it won't let me log in - silly americans:rotfl::rotfl:

if i can't log on and they recognise my e-mail but can't re-set my password then stupid (lots of swear words!) they don't want me as a member do they!!!!!!

OR... was it one of the americans offering a decent tv to get everyone to log back in??? conspiracy (sp) theory:confused::confused::confused:

There will be a little bit of an overlap for the first few hours after the formation of the new groups, but it will settle.

The Freegle network had to be set up in less than 48 hours, when we were hoping to have at least a month to do it, so work still continues. I can promise you though that a lot of very dedicated people have been working non-stop to make this as smooth as possible.

And we will keep on working to make the Freegle network, no longer constricted by the Freecycle rules and giving each local group the freedom to develop as they wish, as pleasant an experience as we possibly can.

As most of us have been moderators for years we know we can do it :D

The breakaway is now documented on wikipedia telling everyone about freegle
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Freecycle_Network#UK_breakaway

we will be joining freegle when it's all organised, the freecyle mod on my are seems a bit frazzled.
  • Hmm. And who controls 'Freegle'?
    From Poland...with love.

    They are (they're)
    sitting on the floor.
    Their
books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.

The moderators of the groups who have joined it. No one single person.

Basically, the groups are now independent and, apart from following some basic guidelines like every thing being free, can organise themselves as they and their members wish.

But people have to be able to find us, which is where Freegle comes in.

very worthwhile thread, breaking away from the parent USA organisation to a moral UK one seems to be the way...!?
