Noooo! I wonder why? I'd noticed the new series has been Devon and Cornwall not the Essex lot.
Had it from an officer based there (he wasn't an antiseptic) that they were a load of bankers or something like that and had been disbanded....
Feel kinda cheated......... :rotfl:Genie

Police cars on bridges are either:
(1) Having a nose at the players on the motorway
(2) Having a break
(3) Using Vascar to measure speeders using fixed points on the motorway. Those painted round circles or squares on a motorway usually coincide with another painted point or fixed object such as a sign or bridge.
Generally they go for the big speeders using Vascar. By the time they've clocked you at say 100mph and driven on and caught up with you; you'll be some distance down the motorway before being stopped. So they won't expend all that time and energy on someone doing an indicated 80mph and real 75mph.
When I was 19, I was driving down the M11, in my dads car doing a steady 100mph. I was caught using Vascar at 98.1mph.The man without a signature.0 -
Some forces still use traffic cars on bridges to trap speeders but not often at all anymore as it's a poor use of resourses when a civy in a van can do a similar job for a lot less.
That said, to know for certain you'll have to wait for the NIP, notice of intended prosecution to come through, normaly by post. It must be served within 14 days of the offence so 14 days is the limit, forget postage times and whatever else has been said.
The car may well have been using pro laser or similar which is basicaly a radar gun, if this is the case the officer would have stopped you and given a verbal NIP and ticket or report you for summons if it was deemed you were going to fast.
Regarding the post above, vascar is a system used inside the car to work out speed using a simple time over distance calculation so speeders can be followed, lost sight of and then located again and the average speed can be used against them. The white marks in the road are used to calibrate the machine, not catch speeders.0 -
They may have been looking for a specific car they have intelligence on for drugs etc.
Seen it on Road Wars and they have other cars further down the motorway on the sliproad waiting then stop the vehicle in question all together.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep
