Today petrol, 95, was 1.22€ and diesel .89€ at our local supermarket. You can only get unleaded, the "super" pumps are switched off. Petrol is dearer than UK as the road tax was added a few years ago. Most supermarket petrol stations accept UK bank cards and cash but are closed for lunch and on Sundays. When closed most do not take UK cards, but if you have cash wait till a French person comes to fill up and ask them if you can give them cash and they will use their card.0
